Well I have to say in our LBs we host we don't allow FiC and we certainly have a lot of melee simply due to the fact that shooting gets too dull over time. And no, we don't only charge to "mob up" the enemy, there have been enough times where we went into melee to turn the match around.

But I feel like the argument about this is pointless: Neither side will be able to convince the other of the advantage of their version of the game.

Well from my own experience some regiments are waaaaaayyyy more patient than others, as mentioned earlier a 90+ minutes LB is not that fun.

Are you attending next season btw?
