Texturing question
« on: August 14, 2013, 12:28:16 pm »
Hello everyone!
I'm a beginner texturer and i'm trying to create a bright red uniform for my mod
I always play Napoleonic wars on the highest graphics possible but i ran into a problem when I tested my uniform out.

The uniform wasn't bright red in the highest graphics

But it was in the lowest graphics

I would like the uniform to be bright red like in the second picture but not look as shitty
But how do I accomplish that?
Thanks in advance
Cheers!

Spoiler
I know the uniform looks horrible afterall, I'm just a beginner :'(

My intention was to create a bright red uniform for a unit. The colour it has now is more pink than red.
Isn't there a way to just brighten the red on the first picture without destroying the quality of the uniform?

It probably has to do with bloom and what not graphic options the game has. When the settings are low, all that stuff is either off or set to low.

It's to do with the High-Contrast tone-map setting in your Video options. When you set your game to High Settings it automatically turns HDR mode to full and ticks 'High Contrast Tone Map' but if you don't want the 'saturated' look, just simply untick the High Contrast tone-map setting.

It does this even to the default red uniforms of the british, it's best to keep it red for the lower settings as most people play it that way, not much else you can do about it.
