Well both but no doubt the fickle public will disappear after 2 weeks and then say the mod is dead.

Yes, like they do in every mod for NW..  ::)
Which automatically turns away new interested guys, cause they see empty servers and do not play any longer.

The first public version is done. Server files are currently in tests and if nothing goes wrong, it will be released this weekend! :)

FEATURE OVERVIEW

- 2 factions
- play as the Populares and fight for Caesar; or the Optimates and join up with the roman senate
- Each faction has 3 types of cohorts, light infantry, skirmishers, cavalry, general staff, mercenaries (German mercs for Caesar, Numidian mercs of Pompey) and many more!
- New roman style animations for idle, fighting, testudo and more
- Tons of new scene props in roman style
- Musicians with a cornicen (trompete) and lyra
- New buildings for Engineers (watch tower, palisade walls, Siege ladders)
- Naval combat with trimeres
- Artillery like Ballistas and Onager (oil pots), artillery can be moved around with artillery donkey cart
- Roman voice pack
- Many new maps (field battles, naval sieges and more)
- working commander battles to fight huge epic battles with AI and friends
- more I cannot remember

So awesome!

The clue is in the RPG. And warband has more players.

MM was alive until the day NW released. It's a matter of capturing the attention of enough players to keep the mod alive. However, the FSE forums aren't enough for that, as this section is not visited by many.

And again, Warband had a bigger community open to modifications. As it still has btw. FSE is rather limited if it comes to modifications.

Which is why I question the release of the mod as a further modification to NW, rather than on Warband, where it would be much better received.

Because of the possibilities that Napoleonic Wars has to offer compared to Warband, on top of that the quality. Hinkel has said that before.

Because we'd have to remove all the unique features NWs gives, so if you want that you should play Rome at War.

Enlighten me as to those possibilities. Artillery and musicians?

And I won't comment on the 'quality', as I have nothing to say in that regard.

I do look forward to playing this mod, though. I must, however, put forth such questions and responses whenever someone bemoans the choices they made.

Good lord, a defensive one.

Stop complaining about the community, then, if you've made the conscious decision to sacrifice the community for features.

You could take those two as main onces, apart from that, the class system, enginering possibilities.  Etc.

Also, no was is complaining about the community, Wilhelm only stated a fact. Those two are not the same.
