By the way the Boers had not regiments, but commandokorpsen.
For example, the "Johannesburger Korps", so this means the corps comes from Johannesburg.
For the volunteer corps, like "Amerikanen Korps", which means they came from the US.
Or "Franse Korps" or " Australische Korps", etc etc.
The korps consisted of Burghers(in Dutch this means civilians).
If you "ranked up" you became Commando, the more elite.
Anyways the Boer people who fighted were born shooters, they were hunting and horse riding since they were young, so thats why there skill was already high.
So those Burghers werent really inexperienced shooters or some random militia, but the only thing they needed was discipline.
Also they always let a commando stay at their local area, so they could make ambushes easily.
