Community Representative Programme Termination
« on: July 29, 2013, 10:01:51 pm »
Greetings community,

After lengthy discussion with both the Community and other staff members, we have reached a final conclusion on the subject of the Community Representative programme, and its implementation on the forums in general.

While we appreciate all the work that the representatives have done and acknowledge their achievements in giving community input at a time when a large number of people were dissatisfied with some community issues, we've come to believe that the representative roles themselves are now ill-suited for the more stable situation our community finds itself in and so plan on phasing out the Community Representative positions over the next few weeks.

Forum users may still continue to discuss issues in the "NW Community General Discussion" thread (which will remain stickied on this board), but any individual community issues from henceforth should be directed to a member of the senior Server or Forum staff (A list of which will be posted shortly). As per usual, any suggestions for the BCoF/NW or the Forums should be posted in their designated subforums.

Thank you to the Community Representatives for the time that you've invested into the community, your input was invaluable in determining the best course of action for the community over the past few months.

We still plan on implementing many of the concluded (but unpublished) discussions from the House of Commons board, so there's no need to worry if you'd still like to see some of those motions put into place despite the lack of the Representative position from now onwards.

Regards,

Blobmania

And, is the moderation staff going to drasticly change more things? Riddlez might recall that being said...

Anyway, a shame it was terminated, though it was indeed useless, at least for the alst few months.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

We'll be rolling out some more changes in the near future, at the moment we're just working on ironing out the kinks and getting everything squared away for the Forum Rule-Set update coming up.

What problems were causing the needs for these changes? mCall me simple minded but I havenot really seen any problems in the community caused by the administrates to warrent any changes.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

By "changes" I mean that we're updating the rules to give a greater level of clarity and understanding as to what is and isn't acceptable behaviour on the forums, alongside which there are a few new rule additions that we hope will make moderating the higher-volume forum areas (for example, the regimental boards) more manageable.

Still trying to sort through forum rules that have to be put into action and telling people that Taleworlds isn't the model SMF forum to constantly look to for advice.

Should have never been started imo.

Couldn't agree more. It was false-power given to community members, most of which were incompetent morons and swayed votes by getting large regiments to just vote for them. It was truly stupid, I agree.

Lol, I got watched for this. Go figure.
