Magner's Avatar Workshop [Closed, all completed]
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:46:32 pm »

Hello! For the next few months, I've a lot of free time to spare which I'm using for some Computer work, as well as regimental making. So I thought I'd give back the community something since I joined last year. As you'd guess, I make avatars mainly, but I can construct whatever as long as reference, links etc are included to make it easier for me, and quicker for you to receive it. This can include banners, signatures or almost anything. But make sure it is sent onto this thread, and not through PM so I do not forget to note it down. In terms of waiting times can vary, if I have a lot of over things to do, as well a lot of applications in a week, it may between 1-2 weeks. But at the moment, it should be no more than a couple of days. Below is a collection of all my work to see what the final product will resemble.

Collection:

Spoiler
[close]

Interested in one?, follow the application form below for an avatar, or post details for a sig, banner etc. The numbers represent the steps, as well as the instructions which are below it, indicating what it means and what it can include.

Application form:

Flag for the background? (1):
Any images for the background (2):
Regiment and/or name (3):
Would you like a character included? (4):
Any extra images you'd like included? (5):
Any border to finish? (6):

Instructions for the application form (1-6):

Spoiler

(1) British? French? Prussian?...For the background, what flag or covering would you like, it can be on it's own, or you can add a image behind it (2) for some extra colour and texture. This can range from the Union Jack to the Rising Sun

(2) The Battle of Waterloo? Trafalgar? If you wish for an image as well as a banner/ flag, give me a link to what you want, or I'll find something suitable. This can range from a battle scene to an emblem. Then if you'd like it to involve Infantry, Cavalry etc. Anything is suitable as long as it's a decent size for editing.

(3) Would you like your regiment, name included? (I'd recommend not to include rank, incase of a rank change). If you want a special font, style or colour used, just add it in.

(4) A figurine officer? A Mont Jean Ranker? This can be left out if you wish for a less cluttered avatar, but gives it professional finish. Mont Jean are the cartoon/Computer made characters which range from most regiments. The nations it includes are:

Britain
France
Prussia
Holland
Hanover
KGL
Brunswick
Nassau

If the country you want is not one of the above, don't panic! You can either have a Miniature/ Portrait character, or you can have them custom made by Googly, as long as a substantial amount of reference is included.

(5) To accompany the avatar so far, would you like any extra bits included for effect? A musket? A sword? Any special items must come with a link to save me time, and also if I choose the incorrect version etc. You can also include how you want them presented.

(6) Finally, with the avatar completed, would you like it to be topped off with a surrounding border? This can include thick/ thin borders with a grey or black look. I also have a few very thick borders but they may cut off a lot of the image, and may require me to rearrange the image.

What is the ideal ratio for avatar images because lot's of people say my avatar looks squashed.

I use 200x200, works well for both Steam and FSE etc, also it lowers the file size.
