About us Founded in July of 2020 by a group of friends with a combined total of 15 years in the Light Infantry communities of Napoleonic games, and the simple goal of filling in a gap in the NW Community that has been left open for far too long; an English speaking, historically authentic representation of the British Rifle formations of the late Napoleonic wars. And to this end, we prioritise 3 things, Entertainment, Authenticity, and Community. Everyone above the age of 16 is welcome to join, whether you are a new or experienced player. We hope to see you soon on the battlefield whether you are with us or against us.
| | | | | Prelude of the First and Only With the end of the Crimean war in late 1855, the British German Legion was disbanded and their return home to Hanover was intended to be financed by the British Army, However due to local political pressure, the Hanoverian troops could not return home, as their service in a foreign nation made them seem as a risk to National security. The former members of the regiment booked passage to South Africa, where local expansion in the Gold and Diamond mining industries had made many Officers of the former Legion extremely rich and Influential. So much so that in 1859 they booked passage to America, where they had taken control of some land in Northern Texas. Rapidly and efficiently developing the frontiers town of New Luneburg. A Town militia was quickly formed of the expatriates to protect the Town from Natives, Mexican raiders, and Outlaws. They would frequent cities and bars, recruiting exclusively Soldiers of Hanoverian lineage, though as time progressed, all Citizens of New Luneberg were permitted service in the New Luneburg Militia.
In 1861, with the outbreak of the American Civil War, the New Luneburg Militia were more than happy to take up arms for what they perceived as a righteous cause, and under orders of Texas state governor, Francis Lubbock, they reformed into the 1st (And only) Battalion of the 1st Hanoverian Expatriated Infantry Regiment, Accepting Hanoverian Military traditions, honours, and Ranks. The 1st Hanoverian Expatriated Infantry would expand out to 520Men strong, across 7 Companies. With over 390 of these men being Hanoverian born nationals who entered service with the Confederate states, some in search of a better life, others to escape wrong doings, and some others just for a taste of war.
