The King's American Regiment is a NA line/light infantry regiment dedicated to having an enjoyable and successful time playing NW. We are looking for interested, new North American recruits, no previous experience is necessary. As a new regiment, we participate in three events a week, including at one training and two multi-regiment line battles, with opportunities for random 1v1s and 2v2s as well. We accept recruits of all ages who are able to speak English, are willing to obey orders, and will add a good dimension to our community. None of our events have mandatory attendance; We would just like all members to try and be present for as much as they can. We do not require members to use historical names in game. The regiment is also looking to expand its gaming community from NW into other games, suggestions for games we can all play together are welcome!

"The village was on fire and the Germans had made it into the churchyard. The cry of 'Up the Glosters!' was heard and after 3 bayonet charges the Germans were driven back. Each charge was led by a different officer and all 3 were seriously wounded - Captain Norris, Lieut. Dewsnap and 2nd Lieut. D. Norris."

Historical Overview

The Imperial Guard was originally a small group of elite soldiers of the French Army under the direct command of Napoleon I, but grew considerably over time. It acted as his bodyguard and tactical reserve, and he was careful of its use in battle. The Guard was divided into the staff, infantry, cavalry, and artillery regiments, as well as battalions of sappers and marines. The guard itself as a whole distinguished between the experienced veterans and less experienced members by being separated into three sections: the Old Guard, Middle Guard and Young Guard.

The Guard had its origin in the Consular Guard (Garde des consuls), created November 28, 1799, by the union of the Guard of the Directory (Garde du Directoire exécutif) and the Grenadiers of the Legislature (Grenadiers près de la Représentation nationale). These formations had for principal purpose the security of the executive and legislative branches of the French Republic and gathered a small number of soldiers, about a thousand.

The Guard played a major part in the climax of the Battle of Waterloo. It was thrown into the battle at the last minute to salvage a victory for Napoleon. Completely outnumbered, it faced terrible fire from the British lines, and began to retreat. For the first (and only) time in its history the Middle Guard retreated without orders. At the sight of this, Napoleon's army lost all hope of victory. The Middle Guard broke completely but the Old Guard (and some of the Young Guard) battalions held their formation and secured the retreat of the remainder of the French Army before being almost annihilated by British and Prussian artillery fire and cavalry charges.

"The Young Guard infantry appeared in 1809 with the organization of two regiments each of tiraileurs-grenadiers and tirailleurs-chasseurs. Their cadres came from the Old Guard; their privates were the strongest and best educated men from the current class of conscripts. There were also two regiments each of conscripts-grenadiers and conscripts-chasseurs, likewise taken directly from the newly summoned conscripts. Their enlisted cadre was from the (Guard) fusiliers; their lieutenants were students from St. Cyr. The cadre, especially its senior officers, did not take kindly to being in 'conscript' outfits. One regiment's vehicles were marked with Garde Imperiale, Regiment de Grenadiers in letters 2 feet high, below which, in small print, was CTS (the abbreviation for 'conscript'). The rest of the army thought this exceedingly funny and nicknamed the regiment the 'cts'.

The regiments of Young Guard had sappers. These men wore tall bearskins and white leather aprons and marched at the head of the regiments. The only problem was with meeting the requirement of having beards by the sappers. Paul de Bourgoing wrote: "Choose the 12 men who seem to have the thickest beards, or are likely to grow them. Above all, don't take any blondes or redheads; only men with black beards, whom you'll place out in front.... Most were still beardless."

Tirailleurs-Grenadiers In-Game

We are a fresh regiment in the Napoleonic Wars DLC. We strive to become a fearless and strong unit in the heat of battle. We will teach our members skill, dedication and discipline. The regiment is based on friendship and we will welcome anyone into our ranks. We are a relaxed but mature group of friends enjoying what we do. There is no PTS enforced as we expect that our members are mature enough. Fun and having a good laugh is in order here. This regiment only does Line battle events on monday for now as we are not a competetive regiment. If you are interested in joining or if you have any questions/concerns PM me on the forums with your Steam name.
Quote
"The Napoleonic triumphs in 1813 and 1814 found the Young Guard in the forefront of Emperor's juggernaut, surging on to the bullet-swept fields of Leipzig, and wreaking havoc on every enemy that tried to stand before them. At Lutzen they fought well. More and more battalions arrived in our front line, and the Emperor ordered them to direct all their fire at the village. ... the Emperor drew his sword, placed himself between the two columns of Young Guard, and advanced through the resulting gap toward Kaja. The Young Guard stormed the vilage without firing a shot and ejected all the enemy with the bayonet."

XVIe Corps d'Armee
« Reply #3948 on: July 30, 2016, 11:39:36 pm »

The XVIe was established in Blois, France in 1870 by Vice Admiral Fourichon. The XVIe Corps d'Armee is a French army corps from the Franco-Prussian War and WW1. The XVIe was engaged in the First Battle of Champagne and the Second Battle of Verdun, where General Corvisart pushed the Germans out of crucial supply lines into France. The XVIe was disbanded in 1918 due to the lack of funds in France's government.

Today, the XVIe Corps d'Armee lives on in Mount & Blade. We are led by General LHardy. The XVIe was reformed in July 2016. The goal of the regiment is to provide a place for members to grow in knowledge of the game as well as battlefield tactics and history. Every member of the regiment is treated fairly, and all recommendations are taken into account. This is a regiment for the poeple, by the people.

The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), once known as the Royal Regiment of Foot, was the oldest and most senior infantry regiment of the line of the British Army, having been raised in 1633 during the reign of Charles I of Scotland. The regiment existed continuously until 2006, when it amalgamated with the King's Own Scottish Borderers to become the Royal Scots Borderers, which merged with the Royal Highland Fusiliers (Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and Ayrshire Regiment), the Black Watch, the Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons) and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders to form the Royal Regiment of Scotland.owever, each battalion maintains its former regimental Pipes & Drums to carry on the traditions of their antecedent regiments.

Concerning the regiment's history, Commissar Jdf, alongside with two good friends, founded the 42nd North Carolina on a mod called North & South on November 29, 2012. Most of our core members have been together since then. We moved to Blood & Iron for a while when North & South lost its interest with the community. After we got ourselves together, we made the final transition to Napoleonic Wars. During our time here, we have had 35 people at our peak and have been through four NANWL seasons.

As for the real history, the Marines' most famous action of this period occurred during the First Barbary War (1801–1805) against the Barbary pirates, when William Eaton and First Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon led eight Marines and 500 mercenaries in an effort to capture Tripoli. Though they only reached Derna, the action at Tripoli has been immortalized in the Marines' hymn and the Mameluke Sword carried by Marine officers. During the War of 1812, Marine naval detachments took part in the great frigate duels that characterized the war, which were the first American victories in the conflict. Their most significant contributions were delaying the British march to Washington, D.C. at the Battle of Bladensburg and holding the center of Gen. Andrew Jackson's defensive line at the defense of New Orleans. By the end of the war, the Marines had acquired a well-deserved reputation as expert marksmen, especially in ship-to-ship actions.

Regimental Introduction
The 1stSL is a North American regiment for Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars. Formed out of the ranks of many regiments, the 1stSL's aim is to accurately depict historic discipline and drill in Linebattle events. We take pride in the fact of knowing the difference between having fun and trolling/being a dickhead. We are a laid-back and life oriented regiment with no mandatory events (making events when you can). We sustain an active community and bolster friendships among the ranks. The 1stSL is led by Warlord and Hockey.

History
In 1740, the annexation of Silesia by King Frederick II the Great of Prussia was welcomed by many Silesians. Frederick based his claims on the Treaty of Brieg and began the War of the Austrian Succession (1740–1748). By war's end, the Kingdom of Prussia had conquered almost all of Silesia, minus some parts of Silesia in the southeast. The Seven Years' War (1756–1763) confirmed Prussian control over most of Silesia.
In 1806 confederates of Napoleon invaded Silesia. Only the forts of Glatz, Silberberg and Cosel withstood until the Treaties of Tilsit. After the adoption of the reforms of Stein and Hardenberg between 1807 and 1812 Silesia was fully incorporated into Prussia.
In 1813 Silesia became the center of the revolt against Napoleon. The royal family moved to Breslau and Frederick William III published the letter An mein Volk (to my people) which called the German people to arms. The experience of the war of liberation strengthened the bond of Silesians to Prussia and the Province of Silesia became one of Prussia's most loyal provinces.
The landwehr in Prussia was first formed by a royal edict of 17 March 1813, which called up all men capable of bearing arms between the ages of eighteen and forty-five, and not serving in the regular army, for the defence of the country. After the peace of 1815 this force was made an integral part of the Prussian army, each brigade being composed of one line and one Landwehr regiment.

The 3rdKGL
Is an older Napoleonic Wars European Regiment that has been around for four years consistently. We, for a long time focused play into line infantry only however now play as both Cavalry and Skirmisher units in events every week along with line as well. We operate without detachments to everyone gets to play as a different unit twice a week. We enjoy a sufficient amount of discipline so as to ensure we preform well but are mild enough so that everyone can have a fun time. We accept people of all ages and nationalities so long as they can prove their maturity and commitment. We are very skilled for a regiment of our size, fielding fifteen to twenty men but being able to take on numbers much larger than ourselves and do so consistently.
