Rules are pretty basic don't troll, FOL, do anything not commanded, etc... for the most part we're a pretty relaxed reg just don't be stupid. We usually have at least a line of 7. I don't know why but some people will only join big regiments, as if they need to be any bigger :P. We're a very tight-knit group so if any problems rise up they're usually dealt with immediately. Big decisions will usually come to a vote, as I like to keep a democracy for the most part. Ranks? Show me and/or any of the officers that you can do good in line battles and you get promoted a lot quicker. Recruiting also helps your rank. The only thing that will hurt it is being stupid. Anyway if you're looking for a cool reg with a lot o' spirit then add BB2214 on steam!

Concerning the regiment's history, Commissar Jdf, alongside with two good friends, founded the 42nd North Carolina on a mod called North & South on November 29, 2012. Most of our core members have been together since then. We moved to Blood & Iron for a while when North & South lost its interest with the community. After we got ourselves together, we made the final transition to Napoleonic Wars. During our time here, we have had 35 people at our peak and have been through four NANWL seasons.

As for the real history, the Marines' most famous action of this period occurred during the First Barbary War (1801–1805) against the Barbary pirates, when William Eaton and First Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon led eight Marines and 500 mercenaries in an effort to capture Tripoli. Though they only reached Derna, the action at Tripoli has been immortalized in the Marines' hymn and the Mameluke Sword carried by Marine officers. During the War of 1812, Marine naval detachments took part in the great frigate duels that characterized the war, which were the first American victories in the conflict. Their most significant contributions were delaying the British march to Washington, D.C. at the Battle of Bladensburg and holding the center of Gen. Andrew Jackson's defensive line at the defense of New Orleans. By the end of the war, the Marines had acquired a well-deserved reputation as expert marksmen, especially in ship-to-ship actions.

Regless pleb looking for a NA reg, preferably a more competitive reg. I'm not a fan of giant public lbs and will probably skip all of those.

About the 44th 'East Essex' Regt. of Foot

The 44th East Essex is an organised, disciplined and welcoming Napoleonic Wars British Line Infantry regiment. Our main goals as a regiment are to excel in both melee and ranged combat on the battlefield as well as bringing players together to play other modifications and games. The 44th requires that all members who enlist are above the minimum age of 15 to ensure a mature community is formed. During events, discipline is enforced and members are expected to follow basic rules and regulations to ensure the smooth-running of the regiment. We encourage members to join TeamSpeak regardless if an event is occurring to meet other members and play with us.

23rd Ingame
The 23rd is a regiment for people looking for a disciplined, well organised unit that will aim to improve your skills overall.
Everyone gets a chance here, we mark down good deeds and bad.
We know that NW isn't what it used to be, smaller regiments and less recruiting which means if you join we expect you to have some enthusiasm we don't want lazy members.
The 23rd won't be bound just to NW, we like to branch out into mods and other games such as the 3rdArk our NaS unit.

As it stands the 23rd will only take part in 1 event a week with a 1v1 on the weekend if available.

If you have any questions about us add [23rd] Marks on steam
