And concerning BoP, I guess it doesnt really matter to me wich one it is.

I'd like to see BoP 1934 or even BoP 1914 get going again, both seemed promising

Maybe WWI Iropia or Estria. We'll be able to get updates often if we have 2 hosts and maybe some people volunteering to write battles etc. What we need is a simple not overly complicated system.

This. But at the same time a system has to be present.

Just making stuff up is meh.

If game is set in any period before half of 19th century, then I'll play for sure. I may also help a bit, mainly with writing and mechanics. If you want it of course.
There is a story that scientists built an inteligent computer.
The first question they asked it was "Is there a God?"
The computer replied "There is now."
And the bolt of lightning struck the plug,
So it couldn't be turned off.

Why don't you want to play a WWI forum game? I'm curious.

If anyone has any mechanics for a forum game, type it here. I personally would want to host a fantasy BoP maybe in napoleonic era or WWI.

Simply I've never been interested in it. I've been always finding history of modern wars much more boring than earlier times. Because of that I know almost nothing about this period (even though lately I watched documentary about WW1 and it was quite interesting). It's just my personal preference, nothing more ;)

But I would gladly play early medieval or antiquity game (Trojan War would be cool, though I'm aware that lack of knowledge would be problem). Also science fiction BoP is my little wet dream, but it would terribly difficult to host I believe. On the other hand I would vote against setting in player-created world (like Iropia or Estia) - such games are in most cases terribly incoherent and history of world makes no much sense. Despite that, of course, as I've said, I'll play anything set before 1850, be it historical of fantasy.

BoP: 1066

:^)

If the timeframe was right, I'd probably try my luck at some forum games. :P

Science Fiction is actually....great! No bloody history discussions!

I really like that! Depending on how many other people like this idea and who is willing to help me that sounds like something I would host.

Problem is, without history, we have no way to tell what players can do and what they cannot. We know how many men England could field in 1200s or 1900s. But we have no idea how many "Destiny" class interstellar destroyers can Yliria Confederacy field. So massive set of rules and mechanics would be needed to make it work in logical way - rules concerning economy, warfare, society, etc. And of course GMs work to make world coherent would be huge too - after all it's SCIENCE fiction. But if you say you could make it work, you have my sword of course.

Well we had a BoP once were players created Nations on their own, and that looked pretty promising and merely failed due to the fact that the GM lost interest.

I think its pretty much the same here. Just give the Players guidelines in wich they create their...whatever to make it balanced, always have a last saying etc etc

Please no science fiction. Fantasy something would be great, I just dislike science fiction as a whole. I know the magic mechanics could be difficult but I bet it would make it awesome too.
