Fame behind the Name
« on: December 19, 2014, 08:54:04 pm »
Ever wondered why people chose their regiment names?

Well I bloody do  :-*

For example the history about the regiment or the chosen reason you desired.

I personally chose the 4e because of their action through the entire campaign of Napoleonic wars except losing their eagle kek.

However where ever they went, the regiment was constantly praised for its camaraderie, courage and integrity.

Post your reasons, something interesting to know ;)

I was going to do something like this but have the person below you rate their regiment name

the 3. Danske Marines was my love child because I really liked playing as Denmark in Napoleon Total War so we found the most swag unit. Also, we wanted a unique name without it being historically inaccurate or retarded

We formed out of the ashes of the 29th. So we dropped the 2 and here we are.

Diplex disbanded the 63e leaving the reins to Karth who reformed it and we've been trucking ever since.

Fun Fact: It was supposed to be 64e but that name was taken so it was decided to be the 63e.

Chose the 27th because I honestly had nothing better to choose.

When I was in the 35te Branok wanted our skirmisher company to have it's own designation so I asked my second, ANTIDAD what we should name it. He said 27te so I said Ok. (That designation was never actually used, don't know why we needed it) So when I made my own regiment with Anti still second in command I just stuck with the 27th. I actually disliked the designation and still do to a degree but later I found out about the history and the regiment really has an awesome history behind it.

Ooooo well. I could write a book about how epic the 7e Hussards was I guess, so I'll just stick to "It's a regiment with an epic historical background".

Fun fact too: At the very beggining of the regiment, in December 2010, we were originally named 2e Hussards. 2 weeks later when MM Russia came out, we realized that the french cav unit was the 7e Hussards, so we renamed ourselves to that.

The 85th I lead was chosen because 1. It was lights and 2. It wasn't a name that was taken much in the community.

The Nr 96 is a semi fictional love child that my entire regiment came up with. It was actually formed before world war 1 for a duke of transylvania but we all managed to go back in time to fight the frogs. we were originally going to be in the russian army but I thought it would be funner to be a habsburger regiment. Nothing like making the Hofkriegsrat proud eh?

After the GLR disbanded we were in the mood to play as Freikorps.
Sadly the Freikorps is only one big thing (not even a regiment, no departements etc.), but there's already a Freikorps (FK) as NW regiment, so we decided to choose a number. The majority was for 3. So we named 3teFK :D
