But they're wrong. Because, in WW1 there was a large amount of troops going over a smaller area of land, so the cover spots are taken and the rest are left in the open to get shot, targets were abundant for the defenders. The difference for a game like this is where you might have had 500 attackers in reality, it will be 100 at the most in game, so there will be more available cover. The maps aren't just flat open ground, even no mans land was full of shell holes and left over junk, so with a smaller group, it just becomes more like a regular battle field. WW1 assaults did prove to be more effective when they sent less attackers than sending massive human waves, and IE will be like that.
