The zulu massacare must see
« on: January 24, 2013, 03:28:22 pm »
Just thought in the spirit of the anglo zulu war mod - this is the scene from the first zulu major confrontation....  from the amazing movie `zulu dawn`.
Just imagine being in that front line...  `shudders`

(And the scary thing is that in real life this would have looked about 10 times worse as there were over 20,000 zulus in that initial battle at Isandlwana, and this movie only hired 3,000 - so you are multiplying the amount of zulus you see charging by around 7 times!)

Remember - ``bullets run out,  but spears don`t``   - Classic!!!!

ps if you are in the uk - here is another free instant stream of it  http://www.putlocker.com/file/75A79469C736EAE8&smaller

I love how Channel 5, a British channel, is blocked to Brits but not to others.

I really didn't like Zulu Dawn. I thought the previous Zulu film was much better.

Yeah but in terms of film quality I didn't like Zulu Dawn as much as I like Zulu.

Yeah but in terms of film quality I didn't like Zulu Dawn as much as I like Zulu.

The point of the clip was to give a picture of how it would look like to have been the regiment who got massacred (just multiply the zulus in that movie about 7 fold)

I will say that as a whole.. `zulu` is much more hollywood and action packed than `zulu dawn`.. so in that sense i can see why many people would like it more

If you prefer build up and an in depth look at the characters which yes, `zulu` does well......     the winner in terms of storyline and gripping finale is `zulu dawn`.

Both movies do have some historical inaccuracies.. but `zulu` is a far bigger culprit than `zulu dawn`..   In fact many of the big moments of `zulu` did not happen...  ie the noble singing of men of harlech, or the zulu braves saluting them and leaving on their own accord none of that happened :)  but anyway it is sometimes nice just to enjoy movies and not take them too seriously or it ruins the fun  :P

You posted a film link. I could post a film clip of Black Hawk down, and say: "It's like I'm shooting it down." That is my feeling of this thread.

except it would have zero reference to anything on this board as this is a zulu anglo war board and if youve been on any of the servers its usually 10 british against 50 bots - so the video has a LOT to do with the mod history/scenario/feeling

not bothered about your `feelings of this thread`... nobody else seems to have a problem with it...... when fsegames need a cheap rent-a-cop i am sure they will call upon you.

I've already seen this AND Zulu (which was better, regardless of the Zulu loss). I think that the industry took a step backwards almost with this, compared to Zulu.
