Crown facing right? What the devils do you mean?  The collar would meet in the middle and each side would mirror the other, these are of the right collar if you were facing the jacket.

They are all correct just need to flip it so the crown is facing right, if Im wrong please correct me.

No, you're correct, sorta'. The crown buttons should face towards the end of the shoulder, so in your pictures, the bottom of the crown should be facing left, not down.

Crown facing right? What the devils do you mean?  The collar would meet in the middle and each side would mirror the other, these are of the right collar if you were facing the jacket.

Refer to above statement.

May I make the suggestion of having the 42nd as one of the British regiments?

Oh my.

One question and one quite obvious suggestion.

How do you plan on balancing the russians, what with the outdated muskets they uses? And British units.

Infantry

(Can't think of a line regiment off the top of my head)
93rd Highlanders
Rifle Brigade
1st Foot Guards - I may be mistaken in believing they were decisive at Alma
Royal Marines, perhaps?

Light Cavalry
The goddamn Light Brigade!
Which, and I've probably missed someone, consisted of
11th (Prince Alberts Own) Hussars
13th Light Dragoons
17th Lancers

Heavy Cavalry
I don't know the heavy brigade all too well, but I know it included
2nd (North British) Dragoons - the Scots Greys
6th (Inniskilling Dragoons)

Some Headquarters ideas

Lord Raglan
Lord Lucan
Lord Cardigan (haw-haw) his uniform would be the same as the 11ths, mind.
General Scarlett, who lead the heavy brigade
Colin Campbell, who commanded the 93rd and later lead the British to the relief of Lucknow.
Lew Nolan, the impetuous ADC who said "there are your guns, my lord. There is your enemy!"

Just realised that the light Cavalry niggling at the back of my mind were the 8th (Royal Irish) Hussars. But damn their eyes, they weren't wearing damned saucy scarlet pantaloons, d'ye see?

Balance issues aren't really that a big deal, give the Russians more ammo and a slightly more lethal melee stats and make the ammunition by default less plentiful or just give the Brit/French/Sardinian Regiments the options to use both guns.

Remember Admins can tweak the amount of ammuniton in options so line battles wise they are fine.

An idea for balance would be to make accuracy only slightly better for the rifled muskets than smoothbores (Given that shooting skill was still piss poor) but give them much better range, as in less bullet drop.

Does sound reasonable, I think this how North And South does it.

What is it now Baktech?

Just thought you chaps might like these (no practical use for the mod, just interesting) I made some Crimean era rank insignia on the collars. They aren't 100% accurate but my only reference was a few paragraphs in a book. I haven't the faintest idea what the gold braid should be but these give a nice insight :) Oh and the buttons are only there because one picture showed something similiar to Buttons but weren't actually mentioned in the paragraph.

Spoiler

Colonel.

Lieutenant Colonel.

Major.

Captain.

Lieutenant.

Ensign.

Thanks, James Grant. We'll find a way to use these, possibly for a compilation of community graphics/ranks, or something.

May I make the suggestion of having the 42nd as one of the British regiments?

We have kind of decided on the 93rd instead of the 42nd, but if there is enough demand for the 42nd, we can settle it with a poll.

Thanks for the suggestions, we'll keep them handy.  ;D

That's a good idea. And, we could possibly make the reload speed for the smoothbores faster, which might not be historical, but in my opinion,

Spoiler
fun > historical accuracy

I would like to thank you all for your suggestions and concerns.

93rd are far better known than the 42nd in the Crimea. Really is no decision there.

Surely there is room for more than one or two Brit line regiments, at least after beta?

And both regiments lost the same amount of men men to cold and starvation mister.

Yes but these specifically are Highlanders laddie!
The 93rd are known for the Thin Red Line incident at the battle of Balaclava. The 42nd however, though they did as well as most, did nothing of such exception in the war.
