Presumably (as with most mods) there is no variation between the module and that which is used to run the servers. Naturally though a tonne of servers would end up thinning out the community, but killing it off entirely? I doubt that. As with NW, certain servers will become more popular than others due to certain attributes and mitigate the uh... thinning... Hmm.

I think puplic players and the amount of servers are not important for the life of a mod. In my opinion it is the regimental community and the events that keep the mod alive.

We decide that Official dedicated server files will be released shortly after the mod's release. Saying it at the module system way, it'd be (store_random_in_range, ":three days, ":eight_days"),

Sure, but 97% of the players will be (like in n&s and bc) players who come from nw regiments that have their own littleregiment for the mod.

Hmmm I really never did NW regimenting, just too many people pushing around.
But, if you wanted to go on BC/N&S now, could you go on the mod now and spend some quality playing time off events? Not really. In the end, it's the strong public play and the never-ending influx of players(of arguable age...) that keeps it alive over and over and over for new regiments and those 100+ men ones.

I haven't given them to anyone, they aren't even made, it's just possible to create a server from the mod itself. IE needs to make the mod impossible to upload without server files if they want to prevent servers which is a good idea since they split the community.

No it's definitely important. If a new player has just downloaded the mod and they see no players on it e think its dead even if events are going on. Public play where all the players are together makes it look more alive and allows regiments to recruit in game.
