I'm happy to wait 3-6 months for the addition of Russians and British. The bug fixes and usual stuff of course take the real priority post release.

I'm hoping for some really good post release custom maps that could get added myself.

The British are a must, I'm not saying that because I am British, in fact i think nationalism and wanting your favorite country should stay out of it. It should be the British because they're the other major power on the western front and the one the majority of people want to see.

I think three nations each for both the Allied and Central Powers would be best.

Allied:

Third French Republic

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

Rossiyskaya Imperiya/Russian Empire(With Slavic nation subunits, like the Bavarians in NW)

Central:

Deutsches Reich/German Empire

Austro-Hungarian Empire

Devlet-i ʿAliyyeh-yi ʿOs̱mâniyyeh/Ottoman Empire

My ideal updates would be:

First: Polishes out France and Germany, possibly adding troops. Bugfixes. A few maps.
Second: New faction (Russia?), further polishing on the first two factions if need be. Bugfixes. More maps.
Third: Either more polish, or another new faction (Austria?), bugfixes, maps.
Fourth: United Kingdom added, bugfixes, maps.

The reason there should be so many bugfixes is the likelihood that more features will be added as time goes on, and in mods like NaS, that often added some bugs that weren't caught before release. Also, maps can often have some minor (or major) design flaws, and in this mod particularly, it's important to work them out for maps.

These updates, obviously, should be spaced out quite a bit.
