Sooo... Bayonets, I wonder how they'll perform with regards to speed, damage, and reach compared to in NW, eh?

I have a feeling they will have the reach of BI bayonets but be quicker but I think they will be just as effective. I do believe though when a melee begins it will be quickly over if it's in a trench as depending on the trench there won't be much moving round with people replacing the fallen quickly until there non of one side left as it cannot brake up into lots of little 1v1 or 2v1  which is what occurs in NW or it could take a while if the guy at the front is really good at blocking  ;D

Assuming Enemy at the Gates was a good and historically accurate movie.

So how about that mod eh? I have a question, how many shots can the Heavy MG fire before it has to be reloaded?

Historically the MG08 was able to shoot up to 450 rounds a minute and was supplied with 250 round belts.

The french machine gun could shoot up to 650 rounds a minute and was supplied by either 25 round strips, or 350(I think) round belts. In the game we have strips, but we still let them have 250 rounds for balance. Their speed is also locked at 400 rounds a minute, which is more than enough to kill a few players...

I told Dany to lock both machine guns at a fire rate of 400 rounds a minute and have 250 round belts/strips.

Are there any instances of faction weapons that are (historically) different from one another i.e. different stats, or has the playing field been more or less evenly balanced for gameplay purposes?

NB I am not implying I would prefer one over another.

it seems that the person on the wrong end of 5arge always seems to get the punishment.

It's pretty difficult to get into melee so far in the testing, only really happens if you both run out of ammo.

Can the machine guns run out of ammo? Not just have to be reloaded, but actually run out?
In theory we could do huge player numbers far over 500 players per server...  As such we will surely keep our promise to deliver you the 500 players per server.

We will probably go (far) over it, but that's for later.

You are clearly doing it wrong and when I get going in a full charge I'll be getting in melee if the enemy like it or not as me and my regiment are professionals at glory charges now  ;)
