Why do I keep hearing that *tiing* sound until the round hits the target?
Shouldn't it just have a few seconds?

It's the sound of a mortar going down, it cuts the air and makes a distinctive whining sound. It's the reason why many soldiers hated mortars, the sound was more frightning than the impact.

The incoming sound as well as the shrapnel sounds are fucking amazing.
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

The howister is fine but the mortar one should have a larger smoke effect. Other than that it looks solid.

Thank you to everyone has replied so far, glad to see the majority think they are okay. As for the breech thing, when you play it you should find it okay, the smoke comes from both, but becasue it moves, that isn't really an issue. :) Larger smoke effect? What do you mean? More smoke? or it goes higher?

Keep any replies coming!

Both of them I guess. Make the smoke thicker, more lasting and make it go higher if possible.

1916 only saw very limited use of Tanks. The British used their first tanks in 1916. I did some research, but could not find any sources that stated that the Germans used captured tanks in 1916. The french for sure did not use any tanks.

Maybe with the addition of GB tanks could be added.
The French did not have any tanks in 1916, but in 1917-1918 they did have the first modern tank in history with a rotating turret, which was quite revolutionary.

Uh Uh, Sorry I expressed myself wrongly. I meant the french for sure didnt have any tanks in 1916! Ofc they had tanks. Who could forget their Tanks. Quite some nice armour they produced, especially compared to the Germans.

Oh about that weird noise you hear... That was just an experiment on my side. I got rid of the sound long ago, Baillie seems to still have it in his files though.

I was trying to make the incoming shell sound dynamic by adding some repeating noise to the shell itself, but due to Warband engine limitation it did not work out too well.

I tried doing that too, it would be great to have an incoming high pitches screech from shells, but it repeats over and over as it flies so it just sounds stupid.

Why do people want more smoke from the guns? This is smokeless powder guys, and small artillery pieces of only 75mm. There was not alot of smoke from these things, i think it's fine how it is now, more is just way too much.

I might have based my opinions on the numerous hollywood films out there. You are 100% right. Maybe increase the amount of dirt though.
