Well if the quality is the same then it just depends if you prefer WW1 or the NWs.

Mods are just Fads, everyone gets excited, full 200 servers within the first week, then they gradually become bored of it.

It's a vicious cycle. Not saying it will happen to IE but it's happened a lot.
Depends how you treat it. If you treat it like an extra thing along the NW events it's doomed to fail.
There's some regiments that only play N&S and they have fairly popular events. I even attend them myself. The reason people think mods die is because public play dies out. This is because most mods are focused on events (where the real enjoyment is in my opinion).

We could solve this by implementing an invasion gamemode. I have suggested it several times with various responses. Just look at Full invasion 2. It has alot of public play going for it.

it will take a solid and consistently enjoyable method of play to sustain interest in ie for that long. If the gameplay is that unique and enjoyable then it can coexist with nw fine i think, but if the game play is to reminiscent of nw or just doesn't have the same appeal as a lb does then ppl will resort back to nw. It needs to be as unique and fresh as when the first lbs in MM were being played and everyone saw the genius in them immediately.

Ofcourse that's a factor aswell but since people have played NW for 2 years now it's not the same. I know I'm not speaking for myself when I say that NW is really boring. As we can clearly see, the IE quality is way higher than NW.
WW1 was a bigger conflict anyways.

I will prioritize NW over this and I am sure many regiments will do the same.

I find it stupid to not have an invasion game mode.
(No i don't, but it would really make the mod more popular.)

Than why did they purchase the DLC.

And what do you mean "look what happened to TGW"? It's not the same game.

Ofcourse its not the same game. TGW was set in WWI, its base game was NTW. Same settings, NW is Napeleonic and IE is set in WWI. People said it had better quality and better features, and look at how it got released.

But if they then do like WW1 I think they would find it outrageous to first buy NW before they can play this.

and okay conquest is bad for public play but what about battle?

I got NW for its' setting but it's not the same anymore.

NTW is more of a SP game so you don't really need a big community.

And battle is alright for public play but it's way better for events. It's organized and it's more people.

I too am bored of the NW's gameplay, i think possibly because it's either musket or bayonet. Theres swords but not much. I don't mind Muskets, but it would be more fun if there was armour and more swords and pistols too, which is why an earlier mod would be good like the 30 years war or English civil war, or go the other way and focus on shooting like the franco prussian war and IE, both options seem to offer more variety than NWs where every unit is essentially identical. Not that i can't wait for L'Aigle, that will be fun.
