The gas barely did 1% of the cassulties during WW1, it wasn't really deadly. When the British used gas for the first time during WW1 it came back to them due to strong winds so that prooved the ineffectiveness of the gas warfare.

The amount of deaths can't be compared to how many it blinded.

Some types of gases are killing slowly, from weeks - to years. However, the main purpose of gas not to kill, but wound as much as possible.

The Germans used it first .

Actually, the French were the first to use gas as a weapon in WWI.

Grenade Suffocante Modèle 1914

But it seems these were mostly useless because they couldn't deliver enough gas to have any effect.

So, I found this very interesting picture...

We already have seen the grabbenpanzer for the German infantry, will we see the armor for the French and Commonwealth?

French armor experiments were mostly unsuccessful and used extremely rarely unlike like Grabbenpanzer. The British did have a few that were issued widely so it's very likely that we'll include an armored class for the UK when we start working on them.

I saw a video somewhere of Italian armor troops that pretty much wore huge cans on their heads with very thick metal plating on their chest, thighs, and shins...

Just like this...

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it. It's the most bizarre thing any modern soldier could have worn on a battlefield.

Yeah, there were some attempts from the italian command to use medieval armors. Especially, i remember of a very famous action taken from a book of Emilio Lussu, "Un anno sull'altipiano - A year on the Plateau", referring to Asiago's one, main theatre of war in the italian front. I think they even made a movie out of it.

I think they were going wrong making suits, a small but thick piece of armour over the vitals at the front would have probably saved thousands of lives.

Such as this
