A small update on the situation here:

I have asked some developers of the better mods which have steerable ships in them. I have asked some question, and they have kindly sent me a reply.

In this message, you will find the questions I asked, to Idibil, from the Brytenwalda mod.


Please do take note: Idibil is NOT available to be asked in any mod team, he specifically made that notion to me!

Sure, you only need apply battleships brytenwalda code in your mod (copy/paste and small modifications). You will need change "viking" ship scene props y models with napoleonic ships.

Moreover, you remember, that u want use it for multiplayer, u will need apply it in client and sever. I dont have try naval warfare in multiplayer, but it should be similar concept.

Dont really see why he is so fixed on making sure nobody asks him to join their mod team, as saying no is not that hard and if people wanted to have him in their modteam im sure they would ask him anyway.

Also that you have the fancy viking ship code doesn't say it won't be laggy. Viking models on native are really basic and barely take much lag. A small example for lag is to see on PW. And then compare that with huge detailed ships with cannons etc.

Theres no moving naval warfare in the next patch.

As Wilhelm mentioned: There will almost certainly not be moving ships in the upcoming patch, and this mod team aims to implement just that.
