Being but a 20 minute drive from most of the battles that had occurred during the war of 1812 makes me want this mod to be a success.

With your 'finished' Canadian Fencibles, you may not have noticed the difference with the hats?
The picture aboce provided shows the troop wearing a stovepipe shako, however your gameplay troop shows the unti wearing a Belgic shako.
Just in case you didn't already know :) Looks good so far!

Just Curious,
Why doesn't the officer have an Epaulette?
According to the image I assume you based it off of, he didn't have the 'Wings' and just Epaulettes

There they only show the centre company officer, and assume we will know how the others dressed based on him.

Flank company officers always wore wings, and since I wanted to portray a Grenadier, I used mere instinct.

Okay,
Thanks for the clarification.

Also, how's the mod doing? It's been some time since someone posted on here with either a comment or an update.

Not necessarily. Flank company officers very frequently wore epaulettes instead of wings. Officers of light regiments often did the same.

It may be worth nothing that the 41st re-enactment group has their grenadier officers in epaulettes. I don't know if they have any evidence that corroborates this or not, but it be odd for them to just assume their flank officers should wear epaulettes.

Hey, Docm30.. I finally found a resource that says that the Glengarry Light Infantry may have been issued rifles at least to some extent. I found it in an article from the website "War of 1812 Magazine" under book review article of "The Glengarry Light Infantry, 1812-1816: Who Were They and What Did They Do During the War." http://www.napoleon-series.org/military/Warof1812/2006/Issue3/c_gli.html

Quote
Since light infantry tactics demanded dispersion, the obscuration encountered by the tightly packed line companies after fire was less severe and increased the possibility – and need - for aimed fire. Several of the coveted Baker Rifles, the primary rifled weapon of the British Army reserved normally for rifle regiments, may also have been issued to the Glengarrys (p. 58).

Issuing some quantity of Baker Rifles to specialized marksmen in some light infanrty regiments was practiced. I know for sure that at Waterloo the 2nd KGL Light Infantry, who defended the La Haye Saint farmhouse, were definately doing it  They were also dressed as a rifle regiment although primarily armed with light infantry muskets like the Glengarrys.

Charles William, you need to update the front page so people can see the progress in the mods texturing of units. I am assuming we have actually made some progress?

Do you have a link for the website where you got the uniforms?

http://history-uniforms.over-blog.com/article-nouveau-format-de-planches-104640352.html

We are aware that there are some mistakes on the uniform plates of the British units such as with cuff lace not matching breast lace and those mistakes will not be carried forward into the mod.

Was just curious since there are not to many sites with these kind of uniforms :P
