Maps with houses. Ruining the game?

Does anyone else think that these custom maps with houses are ruining the game. It just causes the majority of the team to hide in a house with one small defendable entrance. That great little Rorkes Drift map on the official EU server for example, really good map but ruined by people just scampering into that house, the single floor ones are fine but it's the 2nd floor houses that cause this issue.

If everyone just held at the ramparts it would be so much better.

Anyone else agree?

Well,

if this mod is made for players vs. bots... the map is awesome.
Player vs. Player it might be abit unfair.

BUT:
Its all about Brits defending against hordes of Zulus. So it would make no sense, to wait for the Zulus on open field in 2 rank line. You need defences and "camping" is just a good defense tactic ;)

No I mean that the players should try hold them at the actual defenses on these maps, not just do the easiest thing and hide in a house popping your head up now and then to shoot.

But surely your arguing that they shouldn't defend a position which is seen as defensible, yet they should defend it? ???

No,I'm argueing that they should be defending the outpost, not one tiny bit of it.

Surely I'm not the only one who doesn't find it fun to just sit in a house which the Zulu can't infiltrate just crouching and shooting repeatedly.

I think once the bots that are armed with rifles are scaled down then we will see more men standing at the walls. It is hard to have fun when some random shot from farther than you can see hits you in the brainpan. It is just a matter of balancing how many of which units the bots get. Like all good mods it is trial and error.

I like defending houses because if the bot limit is at 140-200 then it adds more excitement when the Zulus overrun the position and you either 'Make like a Shepard and get the Flock out of there' or you get surrounded and ultimately Die

BUT:

It's meant for both bots and PvP. The British did like to stand in an open field in ranks firing at zulus in real life strangely enough, Isandlwana, Ulundi, etc.


I do think Brits need to have a bit more nerve, as soon as the bots get to the defenses they all retreat eventually all being cut down, Hold the wall, don't retreat, we've done it in my regiment and it's works. At the most retreat back while firing

Well I made a battle of Ntombe map,was actually pretty great considering my first map.

....But I made the map too high so no water.....


Will try to salvage it and save the map :/

I love playing as the Zulu, but say it's just me and ~150 bots vs 50 people, it kinda sucks on urban maps because A. The bots get stuck, and B. I'm the only one who can bash down doors, and with the bots crowding em it's just the Brits firing on us. Either the bots need to be able to break barricades, or the urban/defend the ramparts map need to be more balanced.

I prefer single floor houses with no doors. British can hide in them but bots can shoot in etc. Gokiller made a map with a 2 floored building and it was good because there's multiple entrances, but it requires someone on Zulus to smash the door in.

I tend to use the Spanish buildings (specifically number 10).
