It'll be interesting to see how the gameplay works in regimental events. Lines of men with that kind of technology. Like the real Franco-Prussian War, short and bloody

Screenshots and videos about the event that was played have already proven that line formations are impractical in this game. Massed volleys are no longer needed as the rate of fire and accuracy is already high enough.
It was an event with skirmish tactics, has the video made by Ronan proves it but however they still call it "linebattle".

Without lines, what do we have?

Blobbattles?
Curvebattles?
Undulatorybattles?
I don't trust anything but pizza from a pizza place.

Try skirmish battles. Because, that's all they'll ever be.

It's easier to say line battles because people know what it means. Also there's a lot of lines used when forming up and moving out, it would also be interesting to sometimes try using line formations while firing like they did at the beginning of the war.

In all Reality the Bigger Regiments will likely form lines and fire at range, you gotta account for still, accuracy and bullet drop.

So its actually very likely for long range volleys.
Let alone its sexier

I sent a new version of my city map to Will, making it look like as it is supposed to look by removing the sandbags from the fields and replacing them with actual fences and so on.

To those of you who have played the map, did the walls that have windows actually have the movable/destructable window part with them? I never tested it myself.

Yes they are all desctruable so far in my findings, and the Krupps on the hill wreak havoc on the town buildings.

About 35 units left to make, but about half of those are sergeants which are just tweaks of the ranker uniform.

I remember that officer round, the slow reload time of the revolver is a pain in the ass when 6 Prussians are walking towards you in a line. ;D

being the only american regiment in the closed alpha makes me feel lonelly.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

And that's when you need a sword.
