Russian naval ranks for 1798-1827, from the same source as the other Russian ranks in this thread.

Rankers
Матрос 2 статьи - Matros 2 stati - Seaman 2nd Class
Матрос 1 статьи - Matros 1 stati - Seaman 1st Class

Under-Officers
Квартирмейстер - Kvartirmeyster - Quartermaster
Боцманмат - Botsmanmat - Botswain's Mate
Боцман - Botsman - Botswain
Кондуктор - Konduktor - Conductor

Over-Officers
Мичман - Michman - Midshipman
Лейтенант - Leytenant - Lieutenant

Staff-Officers
Капитан-лейтенант - Kapitan-Leytenant - Captain-Lieutenant
Капитан 2 ранга - Kapitan 2 ranga - Captain of the 2nd Rank
Капитан 1 ранга - Kapitan 1 ranga - Captain of the 1st Rank*
Капитан-командор - Kapitan-Komandor - Captain-Commander (Commodore)
Контр-адмирал - Kontr-Admiral - Counter-Admiral (Rear Admiral)
Вице-адмирал - Vitse-Admiral - Vice-Admiral
Адмирал - Admiral - Admiral  (obviously)
Генерал-адмирал - General-Admiral - General-Admiral**

Some of these ranks are obviously positions on a ship that would only be filled by one or two people, yet are placed in a hierarchy for the purposes of pay, and so that on shore, they can fit within the army and civil ranking structures. Any regiment planning on using these ranks will have to exercise common sense in assigning them to their members. Where a rank contains "1", it is read as "первого" - "pervogo" and note that the г is pronounced like a в in this genitive suffix. Where a rank contains "2", it is read as "второго" - "vtorogo".

*Captain of the 1st Rank is equal in grade to the army Colonel, so a naval unit should not exceed this rank but be aware that Naval Infantry (Marines) regiments used army ranks, not naval ones (and their officers were often transferred from regular infantry regiments, army academies etc).
** This rank was vacant during the whole reign of Alexander I and isn't relevant to NW.

If you want naval ranks i can bring them. Just say it in the thread

I would suggest making the Naval CO and Naval NCO ranks as seperate columns, as there's so many of them.

I believe in Sweden they had a rank called "Filthy".

I believe they were actually called "Scroungers"

I wish to register twocomplaints!

First of all, the UK cavalry NCO-ranks should be the same as for the infantry, the only ones to use Corporal of Horse and the variations thereof were the household cavalry.

Secondly, the translation/explanation of CdB for the French should be liuetenant colonel, because they had thesame job; leading batallions.

I'm pretty sure those Austrian Infantry ranks are a little off, pretty sure it goes like this:

Officer
Oberst
Oberstleutnant
Major
Hauptmann
Oberleutnant
Unterleutnant
NCO
Feldwebel
Korporal
Gefreiter
Enlisted
Füsilier / Grenadier

That's up to Colonel at least.

Just a small detail. I actually found that during the early Napoleonic Wars (not sure when this was abolished, though), there used to be a rank in the British Army called "Captain-Lieutenant". The idea was that, since colonels didn't show up in battle very often, their companies were left without a commanding officer. Therefore, one of the lieutenants was promoted to acting-captain, with the rank being "Captain-Lieutenant".

However, he wasn't paid more money, and kept his uniform as it was. The only difference was his commanding role.

This. Though there was at least one, which was Troop Sergeant Major, previously Troop Quartermaster.
