Because Virginia drivers are batshit insane? For God's sake I'd feel safer driving in Casablanca then in Richmond.  :P

In all seriousness though, Virginia is a nice touristy place but I wouldn't call it a very nice place to live for the sake of high costs in food and goods. It's a beautiful state but things are overpriced as shit there.

While if you're in Maine, you're next to the only state in the US with no Sales Tax (New Hampshire)

Well, I must say go to Minnesota or Maine, If you are looking for a less bustling place. If you want to live the party life in exchange got to NYC, Cali, or Texas. I wouldn't go to VA i just dont like it

Blasphemy, Virginia would be ( in my opinion ) the best place for a tourist to go. Virginia has a rich history coupled with a diverse landscape. How could you not like it if you've ever been there? .-.

I have maybe just being in Richmond didn't appeal maybe that I was sick then and I felt horrible but idk I liked being further north than down here but with that comes the coldness and that it is boring up there

Edit: Oregon has no sales tax.

Richmond is crap, I agree with you, but most everywhere else is quite nice.

Well yes, Virginia is a beauty of a state. When I went there I had loads of fun doing a Fredricksburg Reenactment (Damned traitor SOBs held the wall -_-).

But I didn't feel like I'd like to be there long term. Maybe it's just me, I've always preferred colder weather.

That's pretty much Maine in a nutshell.

Well, different kinds of boats but similar coast line.

Also... yeah that girl is pretty cute...

Maine has a rather bad education system, and it's a ~7 hour drive to get anywhere outside of the wilderness. Oscar judging from the pictures you posted, you want to go to New England. Massachusetts sounds like the best bet.

Here are pictures of Scituate, MA (A suburb of Boston) where much of my mother's side of the family lives.

Well I'm in Boston right now. I'll agree that Maine's Educational system isn't the best in the world.

I'd say it'd be best go to the Boston suburb.
