Now what about when forming a reg? I made a reg back in April and later found out there was an older regiment with the same name. I asked the previous Col if it was still active and he said they didn't even play this game any more and that it wasn't really a thing any more, as an extra note they hadn't been to an event in years (like 2-3).  He said it was ok for me to use the name. Now months later the 1.0 for N&S came out and all of a sudden he wanted the name back, so what did he do? He got an admin to close my threads claiming I stole his regs name. Since then his reg hasn't made a new appearance and hasn't had a single event. I have kept the name but I feel like if I make a new thread it will be closed again. BTW the admin who closed the threads is a close friend of the previous Col. What should I do?

Make sure you keep the conversation next time. Unfortunately, if you have no evidence one way or the other, then no one can refute his claim. More still, history shows that he had the name before you did.

In essence, please make sure next time that you have evidence that he claimed he was no longer using the name. That way, you can bring that evidence in your defense. Unfortunately, you may be asked to change the name, unless someone can vouch for your point of view.

Good consice guide. I also support adding the separate detachments as there are some players who prefer to play as cav, skirm, or arty only. Also, if this is indeed a neutral place, any comments mentioning to join a regiment should be removed, even if it is seen as a joke.

If you are referring to the detachment comment, I noticed after I posted but I still support it :)

That is what I was referencing, yes.

As for regiments, I honestly don't give half a fuck. This community is a cesspool of drama, and while it's sometimes beautiful I still pity anyone who actually takes it seriously anymore.
