I find this game extremely addicting.

I find your voice extremely addicting  :-* #beminedeans

Quite a funny collection of events you get if you get the lunatic trait. https://i.imgur.com/a/iSQn0

Glaswegians are kool like dat Craig and sure bby :-*

Also that Lunatic story is extremely weird. Never had that trait though, wonder if the horse actually does become Chancellor.

NOW THIS WEE LASS GOT GLASSED AND NO CUNNY LEAVIN TILL WE FIND OUT WHICH CUNNY DID ET - Begbie

Well apparently it does remove your chancellor haha, I want the lunatic trait :(

Aw naw, a dinny ken who Begbie is but that's a shame for that wee lass.

Yeah same, it would be fun.

New DLC announced, Old Gods expansion! Gonna be epic.

Here's more info:

- Play as a Pagan chieftain and ravage your weak neighbors. If you remain at peace for too long, your people will grow restless...

- The new earliest start date is 867 AD: The Viking Rurik has founded the kingdom of Rus and the Great Heathen Army under the sons of Ragnar Lodbrok rampages through England.

- Play as a Zoroastrian lord and restore your ancient religion to prominence.

- Adventurers: Landless characters can gather armies and go off to carve out new realms on their own.

- Prepared Invasions: Declare your intention to invade and watch your armies grow with adventurers and restless warriors, but don't wait too long to start your war or it might all fall apart...

- Rebels with a Cause: Rebels are no longer a faceless menace – they are now led by characters with agendas.

- Loot and pillage provinces. Burn down their cities and take their gold!

- Sacrifice to Odin at the great Blot!

- Christians and Muslims can dispatch missions to convert the depraved heathens.

- New events and decisions: berserkers, sejdr, curses, omens, divinations, runestones and much more.

I haven't bought any either, but that's because there are tons of characters I still want to play in Catholic Europe. ;D

Will probably grab the Republic soon and the others if they go on sale.

I'm having some degree of fun with the Game of Thrones mod, but the way the game plays out in the long term is too ridiculous for any kind of realism/fun. I played it for a few months before I got the hang of it. The AI is just too dumb for me.

The music they added in the new patch is pretty bad. It's your generic "adventure" music that you'd expect to see in a flash game. Also the mod's been crashing a lot since the patch.

Well, in general if you play CKII to win, it's not a whole lotta fun. I recommend setting some house rules for youself and roleplaying your characters, if you don't do so already.

I haven't gotten around to grabbing the new version of the mod, but I thought their music sounded alright (although I don't see what was wrong with the vanilla music).

I definitely agree the map often winds up looking like crap though, what with random inheritances giving Dorne part of the North and such...

I decided to play as a Finnish Suomenusko character for a challenge (in CK2Plus). So far, it's about 70 years in, and the HRE's been in civil war for the past 30 years, Sweden hasn't gotten its shit together, the Spanish are finally being united under one crown though the Almoravids are comping north, the Russians are more fractured than when they start, and the Byz haven't started blobbing yet. So I'm just sitting back, waiting for enough money for the Kingdom of Finland, then I start spreading Suomenusko to all of Europe!

By the way, I finally picked up Sword of Islam and The Republic, so I'm excited to try those.

Oh man, The Republic is so weird. I THINK I've figured out that the family/republic that has the most trade posts controls the sea that those posts are on. I have yet to see a significant difference between owning the trade zone comprising the sea and attached posts and not owning the trade zones, other than the colours in the counties/zone. It seems like it'd be better to have lotsa improvements over lotsa tradeposts for controlling trade zones, but it seems that that's not the case.

Also, I was playing as Venice, doing super well as the Contarinis, and then the HRE decided to do an embargo war on me, and I'm about to lose four trading posts (which, admittedly, is only about 1/4 of what I have and about how many the other families have) on the HRE coast. So that's annoying. :(
