I am extremely happy today as I am happy to report that the issues the 75th have faced over the past two days have been entirely resolved.
To those of you (from our reg or not) who don't know what happend, I will paraphrase. To start, I would like to add that I have been incredibly impartial these past few days, I have of course acted to create the diplomacy reached today. I also wish to commend the inderviduals on both sides for being able to talk, even in the heat of the moment, reasonable and without raised voices (something rare over the Internet).
Essentially, the 75th recently suffered a breakdown in communication. We had not worked hard enough to satisfy the needs of those in cavalry and Rifle companies, and they in turn had (if I may be so bold as to say) perhaps had not warned us of this enough. On Thursday night they chose to leave and join the 79th. Since then, there were heated discussions on both sides, it seemed an impass had been created between us who had been side and side for so long now. On our side, I know there were feelings of betrayal, on the other side, (I hope) a desire for these things to be fixed. This night the 75th had a line battle in which we mustered a measly 22 for line, whereas in the 79th they brought together (commendably since they just formed) 16. Whilst these numbers are clearly small indervidually, we can see that combined this night, we would have had nearing 40. Not a bad attendance for a Friday! After the events, I personally made the effort as the diplomat to talk to the 79th side, we covered a lot of ground, Scotty came and talked to Lime, and I can honestly say, I saw Lime, who I have struggled toghther with through even tougher situations, talk more reasonably than ever before, making me now believe fully he is cut for the position of community representative. Much ground was covered, and I ended up actually holding up the path of this progress so let Scotty and Lime talk privately for a good time. We then talked to Stark. The long and short of an about 2 hour discussion comming to this: The companies are comming back, there are no hard feelings, if anything I even believe this will now be stronger as we know the issues to be addressed.
As such, this week we hope for our biggest ever Turnout, a shame we lost the positions in the Saturday event, but oh well!
