I don't understand why people have to post and tell everyone that they're leaving anyway. Maybe it'll be made evident when, you know you're not around anymore? If your main concern is that people will forget you or not notice that you're gone, then you might have some other issues. Just fucking tell your regiment and say a quick goodbye for Christ's sake. 99% of people could not care less that you're leaving.

If I were actually leaving the community I'd just stop posting here and delete everyone from NW aside from a few of my closer friends from steam. Why does it have to be a big self-induced fanfare?

To be fair, I'm going to post here when I leave. I'd rather just say bye to everyone  at once, instead of going through all 300 people on Steam. I also don't have the entire forum userbase on Steam. ever1 luvs m3

But why would you need to say goodbye to 300 people individually? You could take care everyone in the 63e at once during promotions or something, and then word would get around without you making any effort and everyone would know by the end of the week. And at the very most all that's necessary in this thread is a simple "k I'm leaving bye guys it was fun". The main thing that irks me is when people post massive autobiographies and shout outs, which are completely uncalled for.
