Thundersnow have you ever thought about having 2 servers?   

I ran two events (The Top Secret Friday Linebattles) on two servers for roughly 6 months (?) along with my old pal Jorge, the colonel of the 8th, in the summer of 2011.

They were really great times, but the juggling and managing of these two servers really just got too time consuming. 

-First of all, you need two servers.
-Secondly, you have to be sure that the other guy running the server isn't a psychopath who will ruin everything by smacking reg leaders around with a banhammer or something nutty.
-Thirdly, it gets to the point that, with the fluctuating attendance numbers of other regiments, you eventually wind up with 'regiment regulars' on each server, which means you're not mixing and matching, which was part of the fun to begin with.
-Fourthly, you feel that you have to shift some regiments from one server to another, because one week one sever only has 54 guys show up and you have 180 on the other server. 
-Fifthly, People's feelings start getting hurt because you put them on your server, or the other server, because <Insert reason here>
-Sixthly, this resurgence of attendees comes in waves.  It's not a stable number, like say, 5arges event, because our events depend on the ebb and flow of roughly 10-15 other regiments on any given week.
Seventhly, it's really hard to find people who you can trust, AND attend on a regular basis, actually willing to take on the task of running the other server, muchless being an administrator on your server.  And trusty administrators are hard to find as well.  You need people who are willing to take instruction from YOU in terms of how to behave towards other regiments, yet able to have that command battlefield 'presence' when it comes to taking someone to task for purposely trolling or breaking the rules, knowing that the backlash from his regiment will brutal.  It takes a lot of tact.
Eighthly, I just wanted to see what 'Eighthly' looked like typed out.
Ninethly, I did it mostly for the chicks and the popularity, only to find out that what I was looking for this whole time was in my own backyard.  And the other was locked in my basement.


I hope this clears everything up!
