NRP/BBG Campaign Event 2.0(starts March 14th)
« on: February 19, 2020, 03:44:28 am »
Introduction

After our previous NA campaign being a resounding success The NRP/BBG campaign 2.0 is here! The NRP/BBG Campaign 2.0 is based on a fictional war scenario which serves as a simplified conflict to decide whether made up factions called The Kingdom of Felderburg or The Kingdom of Garland will win gain control of the Campaign map here

With dedicated server admins, these events will be a series of public line battles that have their score tracked. Each battle will determine on board army victories/movements. The faction that defeats the other sides armies, or gains enough "Victory Points" wins!

The BBG / NRP Campaign: What is it?
The NRP/BBG Campaign is essentially a hybrid of public and organised regimental play. NRP has been the largest community of public-driven battle roleplays in the NW Community for several years, providing large scale wargames with enough rules to bring immersion and organisation without the rigid and limited aspect of regimental-based gameplay. Now they have teamed up with BBG to bring this campaign to everyone in North America!~

A Campaign will be set either in a historical or fictional setting, and the players through their actions will be able to decide the outcome.
Every single layer of the Campaign is fully controlled by players, and driven by players.

-Each faction has a Command Structure, which players can apply to become part of
-Command Structures can select generals for specific lines or units, which players can all become
-Each faction has a designated Leader who acts as the go-between for their faction and the admin team

There are victory conditions and mechanics in place to allow for a tactical progression of the campaign based on the outcomes of battles, allowing for an immersive and dynamic experience unparalleled in Napoleonic Wars.

NRP/BBG Campaign Battles: How do they work?
Battles in the NRP/BBG Campaign are similar to those you would see in a typical regimental match, only with adjustments for immersion, fun and breathing room to accommodate the public nature of the server.
Each line is lead by an officer, however there are few limits as to who can join what line beyond the Officer Slot itself. Players are free to pick and choose whatever unit they please, however of course limits are placed on unit allowances for the sake of balance.
Units will then follow their officer and his orders, and the rest is up to the players!
The faction leader chooses his Officers before each event. Often Officers are Public players, or regiment leaders who bring their regiment to the event.

Rules & Guidelines

NRP/BBG In-Game Event Rules
In order for the Campaign events to run as smoothly we have set up rules. These rules go as followed:
Battle Phase Terminology
Not Live - The event has not started yet, or has ended.
Live - The event has started and rounds lost/won will influence the campaign.
All Charge - All players must stop reloading and attack the enemies closest to their position.
In an all charge the admins will remove all ammo leaving muskets with one single shot which may be fired during the all-charge.

Event Rules
- Follow your Officer of the correct class. (Flag-beacon displayed on top of his head due to server scripts)
- All Cav must follow General (Flag-beacon displayed on top of his head due to server scripts)
- If your officer is killed, stay in a group with your Flag Bearer until you find another Officer.

All-Charge Rules
- No Firing a cannon after all-charge is called
- No reloading during an all-charge
- No retreating during an all-charge

Basic Server Rules
- Do not Rambo. (Not following an officer)
- No spamming in-chat
- No BP waste/sapper spam or waste of BP

Public Play Rules
- Crouching is allowed
- Firing in charge is allowed(Ammo will be removed, and everyone will be left with one shot if they were loaded).
- Officer Aiming allowed but not encouraged.

Note for Regiments* You will not be exempt from the officer rules, if you want to fight together then you will need someone in the officer class to follow.
Reserve Officer slots by contacting one of the faction leaders.

In a typical NRP/BBG Battle, expect to see;
-Up to 200 Players battling it out in immersive Napoleonic Warfare
- A representation of cohesion and morale as lines or command may dissolve should an Officer fail to keep his men in order when the casualties start piling up
- Handcrafted maps designed to allow for choke points and killing fields, ensuring that any battle's tide can be turned by smart leadership
- Truly dynamic gameplay; no NRP Battle is the same as any other, and even the lowly ranker can watch the battle unfold before him in a myriad of layered tactical incidents
- Organisation with room to breathe; as an officer, you are free to employ unorthodox or risky methods if you believe it's in your best interest. Fire in charge, officer targeting, sapper forting and artillery guarding are all permitted provided they are not done with the intention of trolling or disrupting play!

*Officers are encouraged to use the NRP or BBG Discord which has been specifically tailored to make co-operative play amongst different officers viable and extremely useful.

Should I bring my regiment?
Absolutely!
NRP/BBG Campaign can be an excellent place for some relaxed but competitive practice for your regiment, as well as advertising your regiment to public players. Officers are chosen by the faction leader, so if a regiment wishes to lead a line in one of the events, all they have to do is contact the faction leader to see if they can have an Officer slot.

The NRP/BBG Campaign-How does it progress?
We have devised a ruleset and mechanics which allow the NRP/BBG Campaign to progress as if it was a board game.
Each Faction will have One leader, and two generals. The Faction leader will be able to move his armies or attack another army on the Campaign map. Each battle will be scored, and armies have health points.

These public line battles will last roughly 10-14 weeks. They will be every Saturday 9pm EST until one faction is defeated on the campaign map. The events will be played on the server named BBG_NRP_Campaign

Faction Leader

Spoiler
This role is the most important for each faction, this person will be responsible for managing the whole faction, they will be dealing with hand out the officer slots before the campaign battles start and have responsibility of moving the troops around the campaign map. They will also help in selecting maps when that is necessary. It's important the faction leader has discord and is in the BBG discord.

2nd In Command

Spoiler
Another very Important role; You will be helping out the faction leader in his command of the army while helping him move them around the map. You will be the one who will step up to the role if the leader is away whilst also aiding in officer selection.
[close]

Generals

Spoiler
Has a responsibility with keeping the men in line while on the battlefield and listening to your leader when he calls out commands. This role is ideal for those who want to be heavily engaged with their faction but don’t have the time or desire to directly run it. These people will only be chosen by the 1st and 2nd in command. Normally they just play as Officers for the events, but must help give the faction leader their insight during battles and campaign board moves.

Campaign Map Information

Spoiler
Map Orientation

The Map is tilted to have the VP counter on the chettic ocean instead of it overlapping stornmark or the the north of the holy empire. The left hand side represents the north.

Villages

Some things to note here; I have added minor settlement icons as a way to better represent the little lore we have. They are purely consmetic. As the region picked by the campaign staff is around 4 times larger than the previous setting, without the intention of making the campaign any longer and to better represent the lore we have, I have added these little villages and towns as a way to fill up the map. Owning provinces with these little icons will have no effect on battles nor will it have effect on the VP score as they dont contain any VP points. Actual cities are clearly distuingishable by their size and the VP counter behind their names.
Villages

Map and Lore Faction(s)

As the setting of this campaign takes place in the Holy Empire, a multi-ethnic complex of territories with lots of different factions, but with us wanting to retain the 1v1 format, I have chosen to have "Alliances". The alliances are as followed:

Felderburg Alliance:
Kgr. Felderburg
Kgr. Greifsland
Kgr. Dieppland
Kgr. Stachsland
Freistadt Welwege

Garland Alliance:
Kgr. Garland (2 Cities)
Kgr. Borgondouse
Kzr. Barenburgh
Kgr. Valkow

All factions will be represented by their alliance symbol instead of unique flags and symbols for every faction. This means that the felderburg alliance will have the blue and white crossed fields, and the garland alliance will have the red and white fields. This is done to retain visual clarity.

Neutral Factions

Some factions are just out of the scope of this campaign but they still have a small stretch of land inside the map. These include Stornmark, Vanan-Slawenia, Breytish Poitrés and Potréan Poitrés. These factions arent playable and arent accessible. Their countries have been greyed out to represent this.

God bless
It's the same old thing since 1916
In your head, in your head they're still fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And air bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head they are dying...

Preferred faction: Felderburg

Why you'd like to lead:
After the last campaign I had a lot of fun leading Poitres for 3 week but by that time I had very little opportunity to fully turn around the war. As well as I’ve always enjoyed leading on a larger scale.

What makes you a good leader:
I work well with others and can communicate well. I have plenty of experience leading.

Why you'd like to lead: I'd like to help spread the word of the LGA, and to partake in this grand campaign in the best way I can.

What makes you a good leader: I have great administrative qualities, and I believe myself to be a good leader, though as a second, I believe my leadership qualities on the field will be less needed unless an absence arises.

NW In-game username: Well it changes a lot, so call me Hans.

Discord username: Hans#8344

Steam: (Link to your profile) Hans The Fortunate Son

Preferred role: (Faction leader/Second in command) Faction Leader!!!

Preferred faction: (Garland(UK)/Felderburg(Prussia))   Garfield, I mean Garland ;)

Why you'd like to lead: ( multiple reasons)    Why I want to lead, well there are many reasons! So let me tell you....

One day I was doing Hans things, joined my first reg, hated it, boss was a dick. Left it, accidentally joined his again 3 months later! The reg broke up into like 2 regs, so I ran away and cut all contact. Then I met Colbert, AKA soon to be Attas. We shit talked each other in BBG and became good friends the next day. Then a week later he invited me to join his new reg called the DKK, I joined, set up his Discord (which is still there to this day, I made like the entire thing!) I became a CO, I learned how to lead, how to manage, and everything! Then Attas was not attending events as much, so I took charge in July and made the dream reg. I recruited like a lot of peeps, we became a meme reg (ask Shrooms) and I befriended the entire reg, I knew everyone, I put a total of like 500 hours in that summer just for that reg. I was always active, I enjoyed leading and everything, I soon left and shit went down and now idc about the DKK, I will explain another time.

But after that time I learned a lot, I learned how to lead, keep everyone happy, make friends, keep friends, know the right from wrong, I do regret leaving the good times behind, I miss them. But after this experience, I have learned the right from wrong, and I swear not to pull that bs again.

So in conclusion, this is the reason why... I know how to lead, I have hands on experience, I know what I am doing, and I know how to do it in a fun way to entertain everyone!

What makes you a good leader: (...)  I am good at leading, managing, keeping track of crap, I am friendly (at times), and I am a caring and loving person if you are on my good side.  I have taken charge of the previous campaign, I made the Breytonians see me as a threat (ask Jolly, he dmed me about being afraid to make a move on cause I am unpredictable XD), and all and all, I have experience in this! Now, I did die for a month, but Shrooms my general took charge (thnx bro, you done your best), I promise not to die again, I will finish this campaign as leader (If I am made leader).

But all and all, the Empire (I read some lore) is falling apart, civil wars are breaking (obviously) out and crap. So I intend to slaughter the enemy, reunite the Empire under my banner, and show no mercy to my enemies! I plan to Otto Von Bismarck this bitch and unite the states!!

**Insert 3 hurrahs for Garfield**

FYI, just contact me on Discord for more info, if need be!! I am always here!!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I now help lead the Nr16 regiment, so there is that to. And plus I already have lots of experience from last campaign.
