The british colonial civil war
« on: March 31, 2013, 09:52:42 pm »

Made by the Cape Town Rifles Regiment

History of the Cape Town Rifles
The Regiment was founded on 28 November 1855, as the Cape Rifle Corps. It was the first volunteer unit in the Cape Colony. It was also known as the "Cape Royal Rifles", and later as the "Cape Town Volunteer Rifles". On 30 September 1867, Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh granted the CTVR the title "Duke of Edinburgh's Own", after it had formed a guard of honour for him during a visit to Cape Town. The nickname "the Dukes" appears to have come into use in the 1880s.
The Regiment's original purpose was home defence, to supplement the British Army garrison which was stationed in Cape Town. It initially consisted of two companies, but later grew to five, the fifth (formed in 1859) being a Scottish company. The Scottish company left the Regiment, and became a unit in its own right, in 1861, and disbanded in 1866. During the depression of the 1860s and early 1870s, the Regiment shrank to only one company, and was one of the few volunteer units to remain in existence.

About the Regiment
Hey everyone we are the new regiment in Town. The Cape Town Rifles we founded on the 24th of march. The Regiment started out as an independent group of german speaking members but soon got an english speaking company for english speaking people only. Our first appearances on the official servers were quite successful and our group was grewing. After some time we got around 30 men and our own server.
Our Server: "CTR_Server" is opened for the publics and we would like to welcome you there! You can also visit us on our TeamSpeak Server: express.de:9922
As you may have noticed by reading our name we are mostly playing as skirmishers. Every company has got one artillery unit but sadly the english speaking part has no members so far. If you are interested in joining our regiment add "Immortal212" for english speakers or "Ohneland" for german speakers on steam.

About the Event
In this event you will not fight against those black hordes called "zulus"
In our timeline some regiments decided to defend the rights of the native africans and now fight against the royal units.
All over this special Event will be interesting.
"God save the Queen"... or as the rebels prefer it so say "Against tyranny. For Fredoom!"
