Would the wall hugging rule would have to be defined carefully as units like arty do sometimes tend to set up near the edges of the map for the hill or to have the largest feild of view they can with out having to move the cannons from left to right all the time. It could be treated like the camping rule maybe but restirct it to line an lights/skirms. If they are repatedly using the map edge against cav charges ect then I dont have to many issues against the rule, but we have all played the game for several years now and should know how to deal with lines that are using the map edge to avoid getting cav charged.

Certainly when the rule is implemented it will explicitly refer to only Lines & Lights; artillery understandably needs to make best use of the most elevated terrain, be it on the map edge or not

Rule Amendments

As requested by the DCL, Nr4 & 33rd:

2.3  Regiments Hugging the edge of the map either individually to fight cavalry or en masse to avoid fighting or to delay is not permitted. The latter is largely subjective and down to ref discretion. Warnings to be issued as with the camping rule.

Please be aware of the rule changes a few days ago after our first practice match which can be found here, in addition to the one rule change above for the start of week 2; All are fairly small tweaks but good to be aware of.

Is it possible to keep an eye on the 5 men spacing for lights? I know many skirms play with 10-15 men spacing but in this cup i rather prefer strict admins about that rule.

Thanks you are right this is often ambiguous and should be kept in check, which I think has been done pretty well so far. I will circulate this along with the rule changes to the current refs tonight, although if at the time you feel this isn't being adhered to feel free to message the ref for them to pull the offending reg up on it.
