Silesian Grenadier Battalion
History
It all started after the massive defeat at Jena and Auerstadt, on 14 October 1806. The Prussian army was defeated and scattered. Many regiments of that army were in disarray and the teams streamed individually or in small groups on their home turf or garrisons. Then came Friedrich Wilhelm of the younger idols of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, commissioned to organize resistance against the French troops and defend the province of Silesia, at the same time he was appointed as Deputy Governor General of Silesia. In this organization, time v. idols collected many back sweepers (known Ranzionierte) and volunteers and trained them, again dance companies and battalions.

On 28.03.1812, the battalion received two flags, one of which had a (former IR No. 38). 1ten the Silesian Infantry Regiment and the other (former IR No. 33) belonging to the 2nd Silesian Infantry Regiment. The outbreak of war in 1813, the battalion returns from one of his two flags in the depot since His Majesty King Frederick William III. Deigned to determine that each battalion should lead just a flag in the field. The Battalion now remained the flag, which had been in March 1809 the 2nd battalion of the 2nd Silesian Infantry Regiment, transferred from the armory to Glatz. Burghoff, 26.08.1814 until incorporation into the Kaiser Franz Grenadiers took the battalion, as part of the Upper Silesian Brigade, after the ceasefire in 1ten Corps, the Silesian Army of General von Blucher, partly in the years 1813 and 1814 in major battles and engagements.
