About

The 1stKGL or 1st Kings German Legion is a competitive line regiment who are very melee based, the majority of our events are 1v1s and 2v2s as we very rarely attend linebattles, sieges or conquests. We are a fairly large regiment and get an average attendance of about 23 and peak at about 27. We are lead by Matty and have been ever since the start many months back. As well as Mount and Blade many of our members also play other games such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Crusader Kings 2 and EU4 in our aim to create not just a regiment but a community as well. If you have any questions or would like to join the 1stKGL add one of the Steam contacts below.

I won lots of things, I came 2nd and 3rd in lots of things, I guess I did some other shit too........ I'm also an FSE legend, probably most commonly described as a cunt. If the shit I do doesn't make sense in your head, well fuck you because it makes sense in mine.

Which i did, against known and reputed player, some of them considered legend, such as, Mandarin, Ledger, Tiberias, Herishey, Hokej, Troister, Axiom, Evanovic, Stark, Eddie, Jammo, Bagins, Freddie, Python. I didn't had a good relationship with most of them, but i congratulate them for what they did, and i had pleasure facing them.

About Us & Recruitment

Founded on the 10th of April 2012, after the release of Mount&Blade: Warband - Napoleonic Wars, as the 42nd Regiment of Foot - the Black Watch from veterans from the Mount&Musket mod of Warband, choosing to represent the most senior and - arguably - most famous Highland Regiment. The Regiment has since gone through the rocks and weathered many storms, nearly crashing and coming to an end once or twice. However through comradeship and combination of "play for fun" and historical immersion the Regiment has come out the better through it's trials. With a sense of historical appreciation and immersion, we can structure our Regiment through the use of historically accurate Ranks and formations. Now, while we realize it is only a game the history and appreciation of the historical 42nd and modern Black Watch is never far away. Upon acceptance of enlistment we provide our recruits with a Field Manual, that explains the basics of the Regiment, our codes of conducts and hand-made drawings of our formations.

King's and Regimental Colours of the Black Watch

Now the Regiment is a strong, solid unit which boasts good attendance and performances at Events and Linebattles. The 42nd prides itself of a sense of friendship and community, being much more than a Regiment we present ourselves as a gaming community which, infact, play 90% of game-time outside of Warband. While discipline and structure is used during Training, Events and Linebattles we still retain an ethos of banter and relaxation in TeamSpeak and within the community in general.

'In a Highland Regiment every individual feels that his conduct is the subject of observation and that,
independently of his duty, as one member of a systematic whole he has a separate and individual reputation to sustain,
which will be reflected on his family and district or glen.
'
- A 19th Century Black Watch historian

Wish to join the ranks of the 42nd Black Watch Highlanders?
Don the bonnet and kilt and proudly represent your Clan on the battlefield 'neath baying bagpipes?
We seek all able bodied lads of Highland stock!

The 93rd Sutherland Highlanders Regiment of Foot is an EU-based Napoleonic Wars Regiment formed on the 3rd of May. Although we are a fresh regiment our command staf has experienced leading, being led and fighting in NW regiments for a long time, some going back to Mount & Musket. If you are interested in joining an active, friendly, disciplined and well-organised regiment in Napoleonic Wars please read on.

In our regiment we value commitment, ambition, discipline and courage. We strive to become a more valued part of the community through strength and honour. In our goal for success we aim to improve ourselves as a group and as individuals, so we may all look back and forward to our time with the 93rd Highlanders.

We have members of varying experience in our ranks, from the most seasoned veterans to the newest recruits. All are welcome to join the 93rd Highlanders: inexperienced NW players will learn to hold their ground in melee quickly; veterans will be able to fight alongside other melee experts, teaching new members tricks and maybe even learning a thing or two themselves. So if you are looking for a group of people who are known with and in the community and share our goals of self-improvement, look no further.

Enlist today, with the 93rd "Sutherland Highlanders" Regiment of Foot.

If you wish to join our fine Scottish Napoleonic Wars Regiment you can do so by joining our TeamSpeak or by adding one of our members mentioned below. Furthermore we invite you to contact us through our website, FSE Thread or Steam. We are more than happy to answer any of your questions or issues.

The Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort's Own) was an infantry rifle regiment of the British Army. Formed in January 1800 as the "Experimental Corps of Riflemen" to provide sharpshooters, scouts and skirmishers, they were soon renamed "The Rifle Corps". In January 1803 they became an established regular regiment and were titled the 95th Regiment of Foot (Rifles). In 1816, after the final defeat of Napoleon, they were again renamed, this time as "The Rifle Brigade".

The unit was distinguished by its use of green uniforms as standard in place of the traditional red—the first regular infantry corps in the British Army to do so.

In 1800, an "Experimental Corps of Riflemen", was raised by Colonel Coote Manningham and Lieutenant-Colonel the Hon. William Stewart, drawn from officers and other ranks from drafts of a variety of British regiments. The Corps differed in several regards from the Line infantry of the British Army. Most significantly, the Rifles were armed with the formidable Baker rifle, which was more accurate and of longer range than the musket, although it took longer to load. As the rifle was shorter than the musket, it was issued with a 21-inch sword bayonet.

Riflemen wore dark green jackets rather than the bright red coats of the British line infantry regiments of that time; close-fitting pantaloons, rather than breeches; black facings and black belts rather than white; a green plume on their "stovepipe shakoes" which the light infantry also wore, as well as other accoutrements unique to Rifles regiments.

There were only two regiments of horse carabiniers, the 1er and 2e. The ancestor of these regiments was Carabiniers de Monsieur, Raised on 1 November 1693 by the Duc de Maine, Louis Auguste de Bourbon. In 1792 the French Ministry of War ordered that the carabiniers must always be chosen from seasoned and reliable soldiers. They were armed with straight sabers and pistols. (They even briefly became 'Horse Grenadiers'). In 1801 the strongest and tallest men and horses from the dissolved 19e, 20e, 21e and 22e Régiment d'Cavalerie were assigned to the horse carabiniers. Despite the flow of soldiers into their ranks in 1803 the two regiments were only 2 squadrons each. Napoleon strengthened them with young robust recruits and brought their strength to 3 and 4 squadrons. In the ranks of carabiniers alongside the Frenchmen served also quite a few Belgians. The carabiniers fought well in the following campaigns 1805, 1806, 1807 and in 1809. In 1809 with the temporary absence of the Guard cavalry, the 1er Carabiniers formed Napoleon's escort.

In 1809 the carabiniers suffered badly in the hands of Austrian uhlans and Napoleon decided to give armor to the carabiniers. Their new helmet was of yellow copper, with iron chinstrap scales and a headband with the letter 'N' in front. The crest had a scarlet comb instead of the cuirassiers black horsehair. The cuirasses were almost identical in design to those worn by the cuirassiers, although they were covered with a sheet of brass (for officers red copper). The visual effect was astounding !
Until the disastrous campaign in Russia in 1812 the carabiniers rode on big black horses. In 1813-1815 they were more flexible and rode on blacks, browns and dark bays. All the horses were of high quality, one of the best in Empire.
In 1805 the carabiniers received dragoon muskets. In 1810 their long straight sabers were replaced with slightly curved sabers (a la Montmorency). In 1812 the dragoon muskets were replaced with shorter cavalry carbines.

The 1er Regiment de Carabiniers does not fight on horseback alone. Just like in Napoleon's age, we have a foot detachment as well: the "Carabiniers a Pied". Here is its history.

In 1805 approx. 1/3 were veterans of at least 6 years' service. Thearmy of 1812 was almost as good as the famous Grand Army of 1805-1806. In 1812 however there were less veterans in the ranks. According to de Segur the old-timers could easily be recognized "by their martial air. Nothing could shake them. They had no other memories, no other future, except warfare. They never spoke of anything else. Their officers were either worthy of them or became it. For to exert one's rank over such men one had to be able to show them one's wounds and cite oneself as an example." They stimulated the new recruits with their warlike tales, so that the conscripts brightened up. By so often exaggerating their own feats of arms, the veterans obliged themselves to authenticate by their conduct what they've led others to believe of them.

The elite companies (grenadier, voltigeur and carabinier companies) were made of such veterans. Each war battalion had one grenadier company (carabinier in light infantry). The grenadiers were often used as spearhead of attacking force. They were also granted a higher pay. (King of Prussia, Frederick the Great, required from his grenadiers to be brave, good marchers, with black hair and moustaches, not appear too amiable or laugh too easily and not have an effeminate aspects. He formed them in battalions and used as crack troops on battlefield.)

       FROM THE BATTALION HEADQUARTERS

MEMBERS OF THE MOUNT&BLADE: NAPOLEONIC WARS COMMUNITY,

I would like to take a moment to extend an invitation to you in considering membership within the 1. Ostpreussische Infanterie. I believe the 1st East Prussian Infantry Will Cater to the Atmosphere you may be looking for in NW.  Established as the first North American regiment in 2010, the 1st East Prussian Infantry sets the standard for structure, discipline, and etiquette within the community. The 1st East Prussian Infantry was the first to establish and effectively perform accurate Napoleonic era Line dril, and we have been very influential in how regiments are structured and run ever since. Many people look to the 1st EPI for the example of "How to do things," and we pride ourselves in our High standards for excellence.

We have been formed to accurately represent a Prussian Line Infantry Battalion of the Napoleonic Era, and you will not find a better regiment in the community that does that.  In order to perform in as accurate as a manner possible we took field manuals of the era and have adapted them to work in game.  Unlike most regiments on the field, you WILL NEVER see the 1st East Prussian infantry Snaking around in those columns and playing follow the leader. All of our Movements are done in two ranks, and column movements and wheels are always performed correctly.

The 1st East Prussian Infantry Train and Participates in Line-Battles often, and provides a training/linebattle opportunity that can easily work into a busy schedule :   on Tuesday, a Linebattle is held at 8pm Est for all North American Players.  On Thursday, the primary North American training is held at 8pm Est.  on Friday, we hold our North American Linebattle at 9pm Est.   On Saturdays, we hold our Prussian Army Linebattle at 8pm Est.  That is a LOT of events, and members are not expected to attend all of them.  However, activity is encouraged, and we like to see our members as often as we can.

We place great emphasis on practicing accurate military structure and tactics of the Napoleonic Era. Among our ranks will be found no self-proclaimed generals leading handfulls of privates, but rather meaningful structure based on the size of our unit. Furthermore, we are committed to developing and practicing tactics of the period (with regard to practicality and feasibility in the setting of NW), to a level unrivaled by any existing Regiment. For these purposes, we are looking for intelligent, humble, and mature recruits willing and able to listen, learn, and contribute.

I hope we have managed to peak the interest of future soldiers into starting a career within the 1st East Prussian Infantry(1stEPI).  If you would like to dig deeper  I highly encourage and invite you to visit our website.  www.1stepi.com, or direct any questions to a member of the regiment.

I wish you luck in your search, and I hope to see a few new eager soldiers in the near future,

The 91st Argyllshire Highlanders is a unique collection of Napoleonic Wars veterans and newcomers alike. Some of our members have been playing since early twenty-twelve, while others have just began playing this year. We strictly follow a set of rules based on discipline and authority. While linebattles and trainings require a very serious following of orders and commands with a strict silence, with the minor exception for the 'permission to speak' phrase, our group activities and horsing-around requires members to simply have fun. With experienced leadership and a playerbase that spans years of gaming, the 91st is an ideal group for players of all skill-levels to join.

Only lasting as an independent unit for less than 90 years, this regiment nevertheless had an eventful life. Duncan Campbell of Lochnell raised it in western Scotland on behalf of the Duke of Argyll in 1794, during the opening stages of the French Revolutionary Wars. It was initially numbered the 98th Regiment of Foot, but this rose to 91st two years after its inception, by which time it had been sent to garrison Cape Town in South Africa. Its next postings were back in Europe, where it fought at Corunna, Walcheren, Vittoria, Nivelle, Toulouse, and Quatre Bras during the Napoleonic Wars. Although stationed in Belgium, the regiment was not engaged at Waterloo, being based at Halle guarding the right flank of Wellington's Army. The post-war period was spent garrisoning England, the West Indies and St Helena. While stationed on the latter island a detachment of the regiment escorted Napoleon’s body on its return to France in 1840. Service in the Seventh Cape Frontier War followed before the regiment returned to England. The 1850s saw the 91st garrisoning Ireland, Malta and the Ionian Islands, and Egypt. In 1858 the regiment was sent to the subcontinent during the Indian Mutiny, remaining there until 1868. In 1871 it served as the honour guard at the wedding of Queen Victoria’s daughter Princess Louise to Douglas Sutherland Campbell (later Duke of Argyll) at Windsor Castle. A year later it was allowed to incorporate her name into its own as a reward. In 1879 it was back in South Africa to participate in the Zulu War. Three years later it amalgamated with the 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot to form Princess Louise’s (Argyll and Sutherland) Highlanders, which took part in both World Wars and the Korean War.

Why you want me: I am always active, attending as many events as possible. I always strive to please and follow orders. I have been in many line regiments, numbering to 8. Im dedicated and follow orders. My highes record for hours on NW is 982. I try to improve my shooting and melee skills as much as possible.

What I want: I want an active NA French Skirmisher regiment. If not that than a NA Highlander regiment if possible, with RP names.

Could try the NA 91st.
