The 70th Glasgow Lowland regiment of foot is an old regiment. The regiment was formed in 1758 from the 2nd Battalion, 31st Regiment of Foot as the 70th (Glasgow Lowland) Regiment of Foot. In 1825 it became the 70th (The Surrey) Regiment.
The regiment was at Guadeloupe in 1810, fought during the Maori War in New Zealand, amongst other things building a fort at Miranda, New Zealand, and served on the North West Frontier, but we want to carry on the tradition of the original Glasgow Lowland regiment, so this regiment was formed. We are a European only regiment, and even though we are a multi-national regiment, we only speak English.
The regiment has been passed down through the years going from Colonel Christian to Major Artimus and now to Captain Scarhead.
