About the 28^th Regiment of Foot

The 28th is a European-based Regiment on Napoleonic Wars.
Our members range from very experienced with a few years spent on the game to new players that are striving to improve, with all members striving to improve the 28th as well as their personal playing skills.
The Regiment also provides leadership openings to those who have served with activity, loyalty, and reliability, but are only approved to those who seek leading, providing a relaxed experience for the players who simply wish to play and have fun with their community.
We are not all about the hardcore discipline; or even competitivity. We realise that the game is coming to a fast end, and a lot of people want to enjoy its last moments. That's where we come in.

Early history

The title of 9th Foot was awarded in 1751, but the origins of the regiment are with Henry Cornewall's Regiment of Foot raised by James II in 1685 in response to the Monmouth Rebellion.

The regiment fought in the Williamite war in Ireland, seeing action at the Battle of the Boyne and Battle of Aughrim, as well as the siege of Limerick (1690), and siege of Limerick (1691) and siege of Athlone. In the War of the Spanish Succession, the regiment fought in several engagements, including the Battle of Almansa.   

The Napoleonic Wars

The 9th arrived in the Spanish Peninsula in 1808 and fought at Roliça and Vimiero. Following the retreat from Corunna the 9th buried Sir John Moore and were the last British regiment to leave Spanish soil.

Following the disastrous Walcheren expedition to the Low Countries the Regiment returned to the Peninsula and fought at Busaco, Salamanca, Vittoria, at the Siege of San Sebastián, and at Nive. The Regiment fought alongside Portguese troops as part of Manley Power's brigade which was in Picton's Fighting Third at the Battle of Vittoria, where the 3rd Battalion took a key bridge under heavy fire.

The Regiment was sent to Canada with most of Wellington's veteran units to prevent the threatened invasion by the United States, and so arrived in Europe too late for Waterloo. The 1st Battalion participated in the Army of Occupation in France, whilst the 2nd Battalion was disbanded at the end of 1815.

2. Try your best, follow orders and work to improve.
3. Respect for all members, do not insult others in any way.
4. Respect for other regiments.
5. Be relatively active and attend training's.
6. Listen to commanders and all officers, their normally saying something important.
7. Conduct yourself in a mature manor.

The 1st_Prawns are an experienced but friendly and casual regiment with more than 60 registered members looking for new recruits. Any skill level accepted as we can teach you the basics while having a good time attending events.

We are an English speaking regiment but based across many countries both in and out of the EU. Attendance is appreciated as regularly as is possible for you, but NOT compulsory as we know people have lives outside of the regiment (as we say, we are for fun, not for life), 4 events a week. We have our own Teamspeak as well as several mount and blade servers which are regularly adminned.

On top of this we also play many other games as a regiment/gaming community

So long as you are looking for fun and not trolling about, we are the reg for you, tons of banter, inside jokes and opportunities to make a bunch of new gaming buddies. As well as earn yourself a tasty promotion!

We host events every day, but different days have different events. For North Americans, or those attending the NA timezone events, our schedule looks roughly like this:

Tuesday - Regimental Training Day, Potential Artillery Event
Wednesday - Line Infantry Event, Artillery Event
Thursday - Competitive Event Day
Friday - All companies (Line, Cavalry, Artillery, Skirmishers) event.
Saturday - All companies event and regimental promotion ceremony.

For the European side, the schedule looks more like this:

About

The London Irish Rifles are a band of individuals that has remained together for over a year. We are a skirmisher regiment and are rifles, or occasionally light infantry; we also periodically have line infantry detachments during linebattles. Each member can distinguish himself individually, with period British military awards, decorations, and ranks; marksman contests during training and even written despatches for distinguishable acts during linebattles.
