Time to re open the thread.
Earlier this evening I have been on TS with Traeeseron and Zahari, captains of Spain & Poland.
We have resolved this small issue politely and without any problem. Discussion solved everything as I knew it would. I only wish we got to it before starting this little FSE brawl that didn't need to happen.
In order to solve everything, all we needed was a slight change in one rule that was disturbing them a little bit. Rule n°9 has been modified to:
9. Picking enemy weapons and horses is allowed, like in a standard 1v1 regimental cavalry fight. Lances however can not be picked up.
That is all. In no way does it unbalance anything or should it upset anyone. The ban on couched lance is kept. Let me be extremely clear on one point. From now on I wish no more discussions about the rules on this thread. All of the experienced players and captains I have told this about told me it was fine and wouldn't upset the matches in any way. I feel the very same way. Any post that aims to revive the argument about either, couched lance, or the fact that all teams facing lancers are not allowed to pick up lances from the enemies they kill, will be removed.
The rest stays the same. You're free to get on stray horses, no matter if they are light, heavy, black or brown.
All teams are staying in the competition. The Italian team is currently struggling to get their numbers up, I sincerly hope they will manage to form a team, and give them a few more days to do so and announce it. About the Irish team, the Irish captain confirmed to me that he never took the decision of withdrawing from the competition. He has been quite away last week due to his work schedule, but he did not agree to what Diarmuid announced on this thread yesterday.
Diarmuid is kept in the competition however I want him off this FSE thread. Any reply he posts will be removed, no conditions. He is however free to play for his team and execute his Vice-Captain prerogatives. Just like the rest, I wish no discussion or comment about this decision. I'm taking it for the well-being of the competition.
I have removed all the previous posts about this matter, in order to clean things up and move on. I will now announce the first match week.
I want to ask you all to now focus on the competition, on your first match, on your teams and your preparation for the tournament. More than all that, I hope you will all enjoy the tournament and everything related to it. I have worked hard for it, hopefully everything will work out well, now there is no more reason for it not to.
Thank you for reading.
