The 16e régiment d'infanterie de ligne are an active, disciplined and militarily structured Napoleonic Wars
regiment that finds pride in being a well-rounded and experienced regiment. We have members of variable
experience in our ranks, from the most seasoned veterans to the freshest recruits.
All are welcome to join the 16e: inexperienced NW players will learn to hold their ground
in melee quickly; veterans will be able to fight alongside other melee experts,
teaching new members tricks and maybe even learning a thing or two themselves.
The 16e are a highly disciplined regiment. We believe discipline is the most important thing to keeping
a regiment structured and professional. In the 16e you are rewarded for your actions. If you are interested

In the 16e, we follow a rank structure similar to the structure of most French Regiments. The Commissioned Officers lead in linebattles, and are responsible for the day to day operation of the regiment. The NCOs are in charge of discipline and training, and will receive training in leadership skills. Enlisted men are the backbone of the regiment, who train to become more skilled in the game. All new members will join as Recruits, and will steadily progress through the ranks if they show skill and loyalty to the Regiment.

| Officers
Colonel (Col): The Colonel is the commander of the Regiment. He makes the big decisions and has the last word.
Chef'd Batallion (CdB) is the second in command of the Regiment.
Capitaine (Cpt): A Capitaine is in command of a full Company of infantry. They are expected to be flawless leaders on the battlefield.They often lead the regiment into battle or take over command should the Colonel fall. They might also lead a full Company when the battalion is deployed in separate lines.
Lieutenant (Lt): In command of a Section. (Half Company). More senior than a Sous-Lieutenant, they are expected to be very proficient, skilled and experienced leaders. They have proven themselves to be reliable leaders, able to lead a company to the highest standards.
Sous-Lieutenant (SLt): In command of a Section. (Half Company). This is the first command rank, and they are expected to be very competent leaders. They lead their own lines when their Company is deployed in a linebattle. They are also back up commanders when the battalion is deployed as one unit.

Caporal Fourrier de Première Classe (CplFoP): The regiments best non-officer melee fighter. The only way to get this rank is to beat the current CplFoP in a duel! If you want to keep this rank, you need to be prepared to defend your title against challenges from Caporal Fourriers!
Caporal Fourrier (CplFo): These members have proven themselves to be highly skilled melee fighters, that can bring down many enemies before falling. You are now expected to a model of discipline and skill for the regiment. Try and teach new recruits as much as possible.
Caporal (Cpl): These veteran members are skilled melee fighters, able to to take down several lesser skilled enemies. They have also proven to be loyal to the regiment. If you want to be promoted after this, you'll need to learn to be one of the best fighters in Napoleonic Wars... good luck!
Soldat de Première Classe (SoP): The higher Soldat Rank awarded to disciplined, active and loyal members of the regiment.
You are now a trusted member of the regiment, we know you're a good member than can be relied upon. You'll need to work hard to get promoted any higher.
Soldat de Deuxième Classe (SoD): The first full member rank. Awarded for passing the Cadet phase. SoD Phase can last a month or more. Enjoy your time in 16e! All we ask is that you behave and represent the regiment well.
Cadet (Cad): Cadets are on a probationary trial before they are accepted fully into the regiment. Cadet Phase lasts 1 week.
Learn fast or die horribly. You'll probably make mistakes, and you'll probably get kicked around and humiliated at Weekend Trainings.

Adjudant-Chef (AdjCf): Often same responsibilities as a Lieutenant, he has proven himself to be reliable and a rising star in the regiment. Sometimes in command of a Section. Adjudant-Chefs are expected to continue to develop their linebattle skills, while maintaining their duties to the regiment.
Adjudant (Adj): The first Executive Officer rank. Often the same responsibilities as a Lieutenant, but with more emphasis on assisting commanding officers. They are expected to be ready to command and willing to help the regiment with practical issues such as recruitment or training.
Sergent-Major (SgtMj): An important role, this officer is charged with carrying and defending the Regimental Eagle from harm.
Usually a very proficient melee fighter, so they can defend the Eagle. They are expected to treat the Regiments Eagle with honour and dignity.
Sergent (Sgt): The first real officer rank. They are responsible for keeping discipline in the line.
They are expected to learn to command, and help out where ever they have skills the regiment needs.
Eleve Sous-Officer (ESO): An Officer Cadet, being tested for command ability. If unsuccessful they will be demoted to their previous rank. Expected to try and learn and help the regiment as much as possible. You will be given command in some linebattles so you can learn.
