Introduction:
The North European Coalition (NEC) is a collection of Napoleonic Wars regiments brought together to defend Europe against potential invading foreign powers. We are an autonomous collective, and we may not have voted for you, but we love you anyway. The NEC strives to be an efficient, cohesive, and formidable fighting force on the battlefield. The NEC also aspires to establish a well organized, fun and friendly NW community for all of the community and its belligerents to enjoy.
How we Work:
The NEC is very simple. There is not a single leader or head of the coalition. Instead, full member regimental leaders are all on the same power level (well over 9,000). Every leader can move to start a vote or vote on any issue. We have NW_NEC_Private and NW_NEC_Public in Dallas, available to regiment leaders for use outside of linebattle times.
Admittance to the NEC is also simple. Regiments that are interested contact an NEC leader and express the wish to join. We will make you a spot in TS and get you started. After a week or so, after we evaluate your regiment's maturity and attendance, we vote on the prospect of you becoming a full member, with the same power as the rest of the leaders.
History:
The NEC was founded when Tico, Colonel of the 2nd Queen's Royal Regiment of Foot, presented the plan of a permanent alliance with the 7y Preobrazhensky Leib Gvardii, and their commander, Chester. They realized that with the combined might of their regiments constantly fighting together on the battlefield, that with careful coordination and leading, could lay down the foundation for a fighting force the world had never seen before. They invited their friend BobnLarry, the Oberst of the 98. Kurmark Landwehr, to their scheming, and together they formed a concrete base for the said coalition. Soon, however, they were approached by Colonel Harcourt of the 57e régiment d'infanterie, who were seeking to join the glorious coalition that was being conceived. Together, these 4 regiments formed a cohesive and formidable force that is now one of the largest and of the most organized groups of regiments to ever exist in the community.
Some more history, that isn't that old, but is very relevant:
On a cold December evening in 2012, more specifically the 11th of that month, the NEC made the switch to the North and South mod for Napoleonic Wars. In doing so we left behind a few friends, but made many more. Harcourt of the 57e became the 57th NY, TabooOlive of the 48th became the 48th Brigade, and Cheesypants of the 71st became the 7th MA. We enjoyed a good 2 months playing with the members of the Union Army, and fought as under the banner of the "NAC" or North American Coalition.
We have since grown weary of the Civil War and look to retake our position as the North European Coalition in the Napoleonic Wars! We are stronger than ever, we are still an autonomous collective, and we are ready to battle!
Long may we prosper!
