What's the status on cav? I saw nothing in the post regarding it. Is it allowed? Are spots open?

Cavalry / Skirmishers are not something we use, skirmishers may be argued, but definitely not cavalry unfortunately. In a conquest event, it just becomes spammy to the point of the inability to play effectively. It ends up just becoming waves of cavalry slamming into lines over and over, not something fitting for the maps and styles of conquest (in our set up anyways).
