AGEOD's American Civil War
« on: February 12, 2013, 11:41:30 am »
Hey guys,

anyone of you know or own Ageod's American Civil War?

What is AACW?

Ageod's American Civil War (AACW) is a historical operational turn-based strategy computer game, that places players at the head of the U.S. or CSA during the American Civil War.
Players are military and political leaders trying to lead the troops of their nations (armies and fleets) to victory, in the midst of some of the toughest operations during those five years of wild campaigning throughout a divided nation, while making political and economical/financial decisions throughout the game that affect the outcome.
You can build your own army, promote your generals, you have to form your divisions, corps and armies and more! :)

Most of the individual years of campaign between 1861 and 1865 are playable via a separate scenario. There is also the complete Grand Campaign covering the whole war.

Its playable via multiplayer (played by email - sending turns). Its the best and biggest civil war stategy game atm... so it would be cool, to find new player for it! :D

Lets play example

Its 19 Euro at the moment..

Playing as the confederates at the moment, the situation is on a stalement.
Its currently april 1862, the union landed in Norfolk. Have to send a full corps via railroad to norfolk to push them back... that corps is missing in Manassas and I fear they can attack ...  ::)

BUT england fitted some ships for me to get something up for that damn yankee blockade! Need to get some war supplies to raise new troops :D

And finally, HE arrived!!!!!  :P :-*

Hm, looks interesting. Definitely unique considering the severe lack of Civil War games on the market right now. I might have to check this out!

I bought this game along with Birth of america and World War one in the Ageods military strategies Battles of 1750-1918 collection and its fun if you can get into it but i would suggest that you play the toutrial becasue it is almost nothing like total war and there is no way of seeing the actual battle play out but other then that really fun if your interested in the era :)

It seems to be the same engine like Birth of America or Rise of Prussia.
But the artwork in AACW looks a bit childish! :/
