I would be very glad if you could keep this thread clean of insults.
i would be very glad if Ethiopia ruled the world. Some things just aren't possible.

I, for one, would welcome Ethiopian overlords.

The best thing about Russia's post is that the Tsars wife was probably having sex with Rasputin while he was addressing Switzerland

While we were discussing random stuff, my team randomly started talking about the Balkans and how they've gone quiet. We kept thinking "what are the balkans doing?"

This immediately came to mind to explain the silence.

That's why I put "is". You said "de facto embargoes" when Switzerland recognised the French government and was happily trading with Italy and Austria until the closing of the Austrian boarder. This whole "economic decline" is literally based off of what you feel like and has no system to govern it at all.

"The Russian Empire, despite a huge war against Germany and Austria, maintains a steady economy, not seeing any decline however not seeing any improvement as well." <-- This being the biggest example! #RussianBias if I've ever seen it. I'd like to see you argue away 1861 - 1914 economic growth in trying to back up your claim that the Russian economy is fine and dandy. You clearly have no economical or historical context at all and are just throwing around anything you feel like. Your "team" might as well no exist as they haven't bloody well done anything to fix how broke and unbalanced the system is.

Stagnation isn't a good thing. The difference between you and all the nations I put it in that paragraph is that one is in between Communist nations with the trade seen before the war gone.

The other similar countries are affected by a variety of factors, however atm those factors haven't been strong enough to counteract the growth and turn it into negative growth. Thats why the nations also in the same category are larger nations but ones who have not seen war & conflict ravage their territory or who are so large / so rich that they can take a bit of heat economically though.

While you got others like the Ottomans who struggle for the inverse reasons. Troops & enemy ships everywhere. Or like Austria, poor Austria who is just getting gangbanged by everyone.

Throwing a fit because your nation starts declining over economy by a problem that can be fixed by 1 post w/ 2 sentences & some diplomacy then complaining that others are not doing as bad as you because "reasons"... You should've just done the obvious & get trade with those 2. Plus now it gives people reason to pursue peace perhaps through diplomacy & negotiation, or stop being idle in the wars and try to capture victory/peace before economic ruin kills the war effort.

I'm using Switzerland as an example of the broken system along with Russia.

By 1916 the Russian economy was in a head spin. Rationing was begin to prove ineffective on the home front as Agriculture was so poorly behind that demand outstripped supply. Inflation was also beginning to hit the currency and was slowly climbing out of control. The Russian military was also massively under supplied. Troops from the east were being sent in without proper rations or uniforms or lacking ammunition at all. In some cases they didn't even have rifles! Russia in 1915 was forces to purchases over 1 million out of date rifles from the US to try and keep up and then had to begin getting US arms makers to produce rifles and still failed to keep up with demand. Russia's industry between the 1861 emancipation edit and 1914 declaration of war had been poorly managed and it remained small scale and ineffective. Her agriculture was so bad that it too until the 1891 famine to start doing something about it and that didn't change anything at all!

Russia should not be "growing" at all. It is economically impossible from every angle. Her aggregate demand is through the roof whilst her aggregate supply could not shift enough to fix it. This resulted in horrendous demand pull inflation whilst economic efficiency simply wasn't up to par. Nothing the Russian player could have done could fix this at all. Russia should be at the beginning of death row.

Switzerland though is a perfect example of the broken trade "system". You stated very early on trade is automated and all we could do was embargo and such. Switzerland then should be freely trading with Italy and Austria. When France turned communist and the nations were at war then sure trade stopped. When Switzerland recognised the French communist government then trade could have resumed without question. The only nation Switzerland is not trading with is Germany as it has no recognised them. Then there is the raw materials worth 5 million frans Switzerland is sitting on from Germany, enough to last the war easily, which seems to have been forgotten. Then there are the loan repayments etc. The Swiss economy should be flourishing and instead you've said it's one of the worst.

There is no system in place, admit it. You are simply making it up as you go along.
