Welcome to The Grand Campaign - First Edition! This campaign follows a similar and simple ruleset to the board game Risk, so we can achieve a simple yet fun and easy to grasp campaign. This campaign features two teams who will be situated on the map (Red and Blue). These teams will be made up of roughly 100 players, supplied by the regiments whom of which participate. Once a regimental leader has decided his teams course of action, the linebattle/siege date will be set and the battle will commence!
Voting polls will decide the dates of these fixed events, and will determine the amount of turns per week which may be taken. If you're interested so far, we do ask that you will be able to last the duration of the campaign. We estimate the campaign will last for roughly 3-4 weeks. If this event is a success, prepare for a second edition.
Moving on!
Here are the following rules for the Campaign Map:
1 - You may only attack a territory, if your team has a territory adjacent to it.
2 - Your team is only allowed 2 turns a week.
3 - Teams are encouraged to discuss their plans on the thread.
4 - If a team has any queries, PM Hawkes or any other admin.
5 - Regimental Leaders should take it in turns to declare a turn move.
For example: Leader A takes turn 1, Leader B takes turn 2.
We will assign this turn order on a first come, first serve basis.
6 - Access Routes point to adjacent territories overseas.
7 - If you attack a territory with a cannon, the battle will become a siege event.
8 - You will be expected to attend every single weekly battle, to fight for your team!
9 - The objective is to dominate the map!
Here are the following rules for linebattles/sieges:
1 - Linebattles will follow the following format:
Red has attacked Northern Europe.
First to 3 wins the territory/defends the territory on the first map.
Blue has attacked Southern Europe.
First to 3 wins the territory/defends the territory on the second map.
2 - Sieges will follow the following format:
Red has attacked America.
Siege time limit is 30 minutes, and defender count is 5.
If Red succeed, territory is taken.
If Blue succeed in defending, territory is defended.
Hopefully you now understand the rules to a certain extent. Now we will talk you through how to start playing!
Once the Campaign begins, you will be advised to discuss with your team via. PM or through the thread about your strategies. Admins will give all regimental leaders a turn sequence, so they know who will be posting their teams next move. If you are an 'armchair general' for this turn, you will be expected to choose a territory to attack which is adjacent to one of your own territories. You will declare this attack by filling out the turn template, and posting it on the thread; you have now set a battle/siege.
Once the poll has been completed for the most preferable fixed battle dates, you will be expected to attend every event battle for the duration of the campaign! If there are any no shows for a invalid reason, your regiment will be disqualified for the duration of the Campaign and replaced. Consider this like signing up for a regular battle, but with a twist.
If you have anymore queries, feel free to PM myself or add me on steam (Hawkes70) or any other admins - or simply post in the thread.
The event details will always be posted on the second post of this thread, to keep you up to date on the times.
Please fill out the following template to declare your turn. (Only the current regimental leader in the turn order for their team, can post this for their team.)
