Could Not Connect to Server

So, I recently purchased this game and this DLC. After playing the tutorial and messing around in the custom battle for a bit, I decided to try to play multiplayer. I open the multiplayer tab, and create a character. Then ,I click on "Join a Game" and after a second it gives me the message "Error: Unable to connect to server." I know for a fact that my internet is working correctly. I tried hosting a game out of curiosity, and it successfully launched. So, I'm asking for some help. What can I do to fix this?

Try different servers and see if some works.

No, it doesn't do it when I try to connect to a server. When I open the multiplayer tab, and click on join game, it searches for servers on the internet it, then gives the error message a second later, and nothing shows up on the server list.

make sure that you haven't selected the blank option in the gamemode bar top right - put it on "All" to be on the safe side

That didn't work either. Tried messing around with the filter, turning it on and off, modifying the settings. That didn't work either.
