Was thinking about pre ordering but i didnt in the end Q_Q

I would only play it for the graphics and to have a little bit star wars memories from the past to bring them back a bit.

They could have just made a hd remake of Battlefront 2 (with some improvements like better ai, bigger space battles possibly with player controlled capital ships, larger online battles, etc.) and people would have bought the shit out of it.

Instead they claw back features rather than improving and expanding.

No Clone Wars. No space battles. 40 player limit (ffs Battlefront 2 had more than that). Almost no player vehicles. No galactic conquest. No single player campaign. Not even fucking instant action. Basically everything that differentiated Battlefront from the herd of fps games and/or required effort to implement.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse criticizing the feature strip by this point, but also feel its necessary with all the pathetic excuses from DICE ("Guyyzzz be nice its a new gen of consoles so its harrddd/we have to start from scratch") and pathetic EA apologists ("guyyyzzz stop being so mean lets play it before we criticize it")

And yet I still could have forgiven the gutting of features if they provided new and interesting/unique replacements.

But what do we get? Screw space battles, a nice story driven campaign, and a fun strategic mode; make way for a generic wave defense "survive" game mode, an on-rails AT-AT scenario, and a handful of single player or co-op "missions" (and some yet unannounced multiplayer scenarios that will most likely also be totally uninspired)

And they're already hocking DLC and throwing around talk of season passes et al. And of course, its EA we're dealing with so you know what to expect. (inb4 $20 Battlefront: Super Cool Space Battles that you Wanted but we Didn't Include in the Release as an "Artistic Choice" hahaha Suckers DLC)

And the ultimate insult:

Its gonna be $79.98 in Canada (thats 90+ with tax)...

$90 for a game with less than half the content of its 10 year old predecessor (and more for features you wanted that you can bet are being deliberately held back for another one of EA's patented DLC scams and/or to be added in the sequel to "revolutionize the series" - im gonna predict there will be at least $60 of DLC + season pass bs)

but seriously the logic behind Patrick Back and DICE is absolutely horrific. They have only taken in what they want from the game, thats all well and good but no matter what they are going to be proud of what they made, but with less than a quarter of the features of the old battlefront 2 game?

I know the feel though. As upset as I seem now, believe it or not my frustration has actually dulled quite a bit since this garbage was announced in April. When I first saw the news of what features Battlefront would ship with, I was utterly crushed and incensed (mainly with their bs "logic")

We've been waiting 10 years for this shit...
