At least, in most cases, people are not used to it because of serious injury must be lawful. Thus, the ban is reasonable and does not speak.

Probably because alcohol has been around for tens of thousands of years, while smoking marijuana has only become popular in the past 50 years, and it's always been associated with rebellious teenagers and the like. The main reason it's still illegal is causeless the tobacco companies are funding pretty much every effort to keep it illegal, probably because a government sanctioned cannabis industry would act as a major competitor to tobacco companies.
