Hmmm, about me, I'm not sure:

I'm tall (Dutchie, eh), well built, in very good condition. I'm smart, straight to it, and very stubborn.
Mathematics isn't a problem at all. My family was back in the days, higher mid class, though my ancesters are nobles, I don't know what the name still meant in the 1800's.

Tactician, that would be, perhaps an officer of artillery or line, but a higher officer maight aswell be very well possible.

People were shorter only by a very small margin. The average European in the Napoleonic era was around 170 cm tall, which is slightly shorter than the modern average. Still, you officially had to be 178 cm tall to become a grenadier in the French army, which renders the majority of modern Europeans ineligible. The exact average height changed from region to region, naturally. The Russians tended to be quite tall, for example, whereas the Dutch were well below 170 cm on average.

There's a very common misconception that people have gotten progressively bigger throughout history, but it's not at all true. The height of a people depends largely on how well fed they are---the average height in the Roman empire was about the same as now during the glory years but much shorter during the rougher patches, for example. A modern example would be the significant difference between the average heights of North and South Koreans, the South being much better fed and thus several inches taller.

Im not to tall, about 5'11", and Im quite broad. I guess I would be best suited to artillery, doing the dirty work.

As a reply to Docm, I ran a test trough the roll-call lists of the 7de, and the average lenght is 166,2 cm - the lowest being 142, the highest 188.

The Dutch were probably the shortest people in Europe back then, which explains why they were below average height in the 7de.

For reasons I don't fully appreciate, the Dutch started to grow significantly in the 20th century and are now among the tallest people.

Yes, we were the smallest in the 19th century, and we have been the tallest people of the world for a few years now. Not among, THE tallest.

I'm with my 177 cm doing quite well, I dare say. When I was in Rome I had more then one kid staring at me. Which might have something to do with my neck-lenght blond hair, as well.

According Wikipedia (I know, but the article is well sourced), the average height of a Dutch male is between 180 cm (a 2010 study) and 183 cm (a 2009 study) assuming the low estimate, there are several taller countries. Assuming the high estimate, people of the Dinarides are still taller with an average height of 185 cm.

Either way, at 188 cm tall I'm still well above the average in every country of Earth. So take that , the Dutch!
