btw does anyone know how much a French fusilier would be paid in, say a week? Mainly between 1812 and 1815, course what with everything that went on I expect wages changed etc, but any info would be useful!

If I remember correctly, pay was 0,30 francs a day in 1807. I lost the documents by which I can back that up, though.

They Pay was slightly higher in 1812. They dropped delivery of white bread and instead added the price of it to the salary.

Reason I ask is I'm trying to work out a week's worth of pay that a soldier might've gambled with his comrades, not easy thing to find out I guess. Thanks for info so far anyway!

How much is it, where did you get it, and for what impression?

140,- without plume or cocarde, it's from Horst Schmittner (http://www.historische-marketenderei.com/) and it's for my Batavian Marines 1797 impression. You know, our original impression before we started focussing on the 1810 impression for Waterloo next year.
